Why STILL All The Venom For Bill Stroud?

Just one thing I'd like to note. I am NOT taking up for or siding with Bill Stroud. What he did was a dirtbag move and at he shoud at least have the guts to come say, "sorry, i'm not going to build it". Silence only speaks volumes in an instance like this. Honestly, all things considered, I'm glad I didn't purchase a cue from him when I bought my first "custom" cue in 2001.
that would be me - I bet twice that Bill would get the cue done, the first bet was that it would be done by the end of June and the latest is by Dec 31st. And call me MADCAP one more time, but I swear, I still think Bill Stroud is gonna build this cue. I don't believe enough to bet on it again, though. Sorry iba.
:grin:For clarification's sake, punter, you should also know that I publicly pledged that if I were lucky enough to win my bet that I would double the amount and make it a charitable contribution. And that it would be done in a transparent way for all to view.
So you see, it wasn't at all to do with winning a bet.

If Bill did indeed do this, take ones money and didnt deliver, it should be posted every now and then and just maybe it will stop Bill from doing this to another person.

Winner got nothing, but being congratulated for being the contest winner, and IMHO should have got his Cue as promised.

And the sad part is you are absolutely correct!!! A simple thing like putting one of the various threads concerning Mr. Stroud on the front pages of both the Main and For Sale forums at least every week may (or may not) get him into action. Only one person can make it happen. Bill Stroud. Pretty sad but true.

I dont know why people read something and then complain about the subject they just read, just like JOE says if you dont like the topic why waste your time complaining about it, to me that worst then any thread i ever read!

I agree since it is Christmas, why don't you buy the winner a Josswest Cue. It may not be the cue he designed, but at least that way he also will not be empty handed.

I can kind of understand both sentiments expressed . My Dad's cousin(Bob) use to tell one of my brothers and i he was going to takes us fishing at the lake nearby and also check his trot lines . He had to drive by our house , we would see Bob drive by with his fishing and drinking buddy but never stop and take us, it rankled my brother and it became a joke between he and i when Bob would drive by.
As i got older i couldn't blame Bob , he was just thoughtless in what he said , who wants a couple kids with you when your drinking and fishing . One day while bank fishing a lake with my brother i heard him tell his younger sons they would get a boat , he never did .
Wonder how many people have called into work and said they were sick when they were just laying up ? Wonder if it cost their employer any money ?
