Do you think Shane and Mike will finally happen? They have been talking and talking and talking forever, do you actually think it will go down?

I dont think it will happen this year.

Id like to see it happen but Im not getting my hopes up.

I voted no.

If it should happen though, I will consider betting on the World Ten Ball Champion if I can get a little odds on the money or some games on the wire.

One would think a well-traveled guy like Mika would have no trouble finding a stake horse to play a little ole boy from South Dakota????? :D

There are two sides to this one:

A.) This match won't go down, because of the blow to Mika's ego if he loses, *especially* before the U.S. Open, when everyone's eyes will be on Mika to see if he can do the impossible -- three-peat.

B.) If the match does go down, and Mika manages to keep his chin up win or lose, he will earn big-time points in everyone's eyes precisely because: 1. "hey, Mika actually matched up!" (when's the last time we saw Mika match up?), and 2. he kept his chin up -- especially if he loses. Mika would earn beaucoup points in a lot of people's eyes if he's able to shrug-off a loss with nary the Mika-trademarked mumble or whine. It would behoove Mika to do this, to surprise a lot of people.

I'd LOVE to see the match go down for reason letter B, but I'm in the reason letter A camp, unfortunately.

It actually has nothing to do with this. Unfortunately I'm in a position where I shouldn't elaborate.

Fortunately I can elaborate on my comment:

When Shane played Efren in the challenge match at the DCC, Mika sat next to me to watch them play. I asked him when was he was going to play Shane? His response was he would love to play him, do you want to stake me at it? I told him I was already staking Shane and nothing else was said.

So at that time all he needed was a backer, now maybe he needs more.

Which way did you vote Nathan?

I voted 'No'.

EDIT: Don't get me wrong. I'd *love* to see this happen and I hope Justin can pull it together, but from what I know about Mika (and from what we've discussed) it's not going to happen ...not even if he's backed.

I think the major problem with the Mika camp, is his "clean" image. While its a "challenge match", it's still gambling.
