Yes, the ads probably generate 10% of our clicks.....the majority is from Face Book.

CJ, I just went to the main www.azbilliards.com page and I don't see the banner ad. I refreshed the page repeatedly, and while the ads rotate, none seem to be yours.

PS, your sig has a broken image, actually a URL is set as an image, might want to look at that.

Regarding banner ads and in-between post ads....I use tapatalk a lot and see no ads, nor signatures.

I would think a lot of folks probably do the same.

Yep, that's by design, and yes a lot of folks use it for this and other forums.

The banner on the top of this forum seems to match the banner on the main www.azbilliards.com page. Neither show the DVD ad.

Invest in yourself and and always seek to help others.

Don't stop making or posting in these threads, CJ! This is the best entertainment value for free I've seen lately. Once in a while, NPR gets flame worthy and the sniping is truly a treat. But several threads on the front page of the main forum is what keeps them coming back for more!

You don't have to defend your posting or make excuses for what you do. Just keep posting and being cordial, even though the readers are gathering the torches and pitch forks. The weather's bad outside and there's no better game in town. View attachment 312402

The only criticism I have about this whole thing is that there haven't been any threads about playing the game and your insight is being wasted on squabbling and negativity. Hopefully that will change, although it's been interesting listening to all this advice to keep you out of trouble. View attachment 312404

Best,
Mike

All will work out in the end my friend, the torches and pitchforks have no effect.

It's all about how we choose to invest our time and energy....reminds me of a story....

When I was 18 I had the privilege of traveling with the Dalton Leon (he went by many names) Dalton studied zen, martial arts, holistic medicine, and a wide range of philosophies...he introduced me to things that made a lasting impression ...we were in Minneapolis having lunch, talking about the stock market and how it seemed like just another version of Las Vegas, where sooner or later the house always wins...which didn't seem to appealing to me......

"Dalton, we've won a lot lately, what do you think I should do with my money, invest in stocks, bonds, futures, or would you suggest something else?"

He paused, gathering his thoughts carefully and said "We all live in two worlds, one is our inner world and the other is our outer world ... people typically use money to invest in their outer world where they have no control and are at the mercy of other people"

"I believe the best investment you can make is in your inner world where you will actually feel the profit, not just see it.....I suggest you always spend what you can on mental, physical, spiritual and financial knowledge."

"This is an internal asset that not only increases in value through increasing your ability to make better decisions, and it can never be taken away! Invest in yourself and and always seek to help others." 'The Game is the Teacher'

I have. Slider and Purple Micro Dot. Good investments.

I saw the Monster from the Black Lagoon one night.

this all came to head a few days ago w/ CJ's new signature line in Wedge's DVD review thread - that was an entire paragraph of pitch & self-promo. followed by 2 other threads - all promoting his Earl DVD.

understand him for what he is, and does; he's a businessman. he gets my auto-respect as a reknowned pool player. it has to be earned otherwise.

i will share w/ yáll this:

i've been sick since we got back from Mosconi. i hadn't shopped for Xmas for my son - only had 1 present ready. it was DEC 23.... i called CJ in a panic. (i have his # cause i've cussed him in the past.) i whipped out my CC/checkbook to order both Earl DVDs - to be mailed w/in 2 wks, & i'd print the pics from website & wrap them. CJ asked: what's your son's name?

i received @ DEC 27:
- Earl $1M Match
- Earl/CJ Final Match
- all 3 TOI instruction videos
- 2 autographed pics for me/KK9 & my son, personalized
- a PM that said: MERRY CHRISTMAS - NO CHARGE

so while he is the consumate salesman & can be irritating to a point if allowed, he can be quite charming when he wants to be.

(he just sometimes needs to be slapped)

I don`t really understand why the guy makes 10 or so threads all hawking the same "million dollar match"
As far as i can tell it`s a match from 1996, why anyone would pay for this i don`t know.'Especially when there is so much great pool for free on youtube.

Then go watch free pool on u-tube, and stay there you j'vla hore.

The more I read this thread, the more it looks personal. If CJ talks about
his products, who cares and who forces anyone to listen?

I think he would get more respect if he was bum who knew nothing about pool.
I find that the people who know the in's and out's of pool, at least to the degree
of there own travels throughout the sport, get little or no respect at all.

As far as him selling his items, there is a big difference between him
selling and promoting. What we see on the bottom of his threads is
promoting. If we choose to click on it and make a purchase, that would be selling.
Either way its our choice.

Personally I don't think CJ deserves more respect than anybody else but
should be given equal respect because he's a human being like the rest of us.

I understand its an open forum for opinions being good or bad but shouldn't
get personal.
One thing I do know is, we all have a love for the game which brought us all
to this site. The pool community is small, lets not make it smaller.

I really like this post....except for one thing...

You've made a few good posts in the past also.....
....so when I tell someone in a pool hall to check it out on AZ......
...HOW THE HELL DO I PRONOUNCE YOUR AZ NAME?????????

is there anybody that can say scsuxci? :yikes:

SCSUXCI

SCSU - Standard Compression Scheme for Unicode

XCI - Roman numerals for 91

He must be a computer Geek. A 91 year old one.

We all need to be slapped once in awhile. :groucho:

Glad you received everything ok and hope Grey liked the extra "stocking stuffers".

Play Well, and Aloha to everyone in Greensboro NC.....I have some stories of adventure from east of Albemarle on the Pee Dee River......the "Sharky's" lair. ;)

Does anyone remember "The Big Bad Wolf" pool hall in Raleigh? I won a lot of "chips" in there one night playing a guy named Ronnie with a anchor tattoo.....what a night.

You continue to spew things about me you no nothing about If I had a dollar for every hour on a table after 10,000 hours of pool time I would have quite a change purse in my pocket
According to you the only thing that sets a banger apart from a pro is practice
I on the other hand know that's far from the truth ,, but you continue in fantasy land and tell when u reach Shane's speed let me know

Where have I been disrespectful talking to CJ I'm I not allowed to voice my opinion on what should be posted in the main forum
Nice touch on your infomercial by the way 2 peas in a pod

If you put in 10,000 hours practicing pool then you'd be better than you are. If you claim to have put in 10k hours then you're reality challenged.

As I told you countless times find me ANY person who can document putting in that much time and IS NOT a pro/world class speed then we can talk. You can't find that person because they don't exist.

Every person gets as good as the amount of QUALITY time they put in. And no just being at the pool room banging balls is NOT quality time.

And it's not according to me Mark, it's according to the RESEARCH. How many times do I need to spell that out for you? Research shows CLEARLY that those who put in the time get the results. In other words there are ZERO 10,000 hour deep practice bangers on the planet.

What there are is 10,000 bangers who THINK that they put in 10,000 quality hours and because they aren't pro speed they THINK that there is a magic pro gene that separates them from being a pro-speed player.

What there are is a HANDFUL, MAYBE, a thousand people out of 4 billion, who have the desire to dedicate their life to learning everything possible about pool and getting the training and seasoning it takes to be among the elite. And among those thousand there are different levels of dedication, from the guy who is willing to do an average of four hours a day of solid practice to someone like Shane who is willing to do up to 18 hours a day working on parts of his game like the break.

And in keeping with the thread one of those 1000ish players is here and willing to share with the bangers his insights from the very top. Guys like you want to control him and tell him what he can and can't do because you know deep down you will never have the dedication to get where he is. So by putting him down you get to try and bring him closer to your level. That's how I see it.
