WNT and WPA. Frazer says…

Talking on doggin it, Emily says:

WNT and WPA have been talking. She even said, "Our priority is to get the ban removed… we’ve agreed to a proposed suggestion from the WPA. So from our side we’ve agreed, we’re just waiting."

There will be more open events this year. She was cagey on whether there would be more in the U.S., but her vibe said yes.

Spanish open likely to become a regular event.

She "would have failed this year’ if there was no World Cup of pool and world pool masters.

Filler has been invited to the European Open. Sixty-four spots already filled. Didn‘t sound like he has responded yet.

Euro Open top prize raised to $40,000.

Premier League of Pool a chance to showcase/introduce a few new players to the world of pool. My guess is a player from Eastern Europe and maybe AJ Manis.

WNT.TV is off to a great start - ‘oh my gosh, really good‘ - but it’s still just getting started. She is ‘angry’ MR didn’t create it earlier.

’We don’t have a LeBron James’ but we plenty of characters to build around to make pool a ‘proper pro sport.’

No elaboration? Was there a follow up? Any allusions to what might have been suggested?

All pretty much as expected, but the WNT has no clear roster of players. A year ago, we knew who the players under contract were.

Who are the players under contract for 2025? Until we know, the WNT pro pool product is an unknown.

The only thing I have to say is Michael Panozzo has the patience of a saint. Pool's fourth estate plays an important role in pool as a sport globally and as such deserves a modicum of respect.

The Matchroom WNT staff works hard, no question about it, but as an American pool fan, I was not happy with some of the comments made by Matchroom WNT's representative on that podcast.

Kudos to Molina Mike for his bold attempt to mention the "F" word that has six letters, which once again received a one-liner cryptic reply. A little bone with no meat on it.

Yes, they did. The radio silence today by both sides—WNT and Fillers—speaks volumes. It was stated that an invitation was issued to Joshua Filler for the upcoming European Open. It will be interesting to see if he attends.

Not that it really matters, but the correct spelling of Emily's name is F-r-a-z-e-r, not "Frazier," as in the title of the thread. Not sure if it can be edited. Probably nobody notices stuff like that except me. Occupational hazard. :)

It did in past. Hard to assume will happen again this year since Filler is not much of an supporter or loudly endorses MR/WNT actions

Just don't tell Zar, he hates anyone that spells incorrectly or makes a error in any post.

No i don't. Go back and read a bunch of your shit out-loud to yourself. Sound like your high most of the time. BTW, for the pure fk of it i went back and scanned a bunch of my history. Few if any call outs on spelling errors. I do HAMMER stuff that makes no sense tho. Feel free to put me on Ignore if you're so butthurt.

Have a great day Zar.... I know you enjoy telling others how ''they should ?''.
Keep it up.
Did I make any spelling errors?

Noted and corrected. ;)

I did know how her name was spelled and have spelled it correctly before. I am a journalist and try to get names right. Just slipped thru the cracks. 💔

The tension of the moment may well lead to better times for the players, but speaking as a fan, if the Filler/Gorst rivalry is a thing of the past in Matchroom events, it will be a crying shame.

Josh and Fedor have been one and two on the pro pool money list for three years now and their matches are the most exciting in pool in many years. Even one month into 2025, they are again one and two on the money list.

As I've said before, I believe Filler/Gorst to be the greatest rivalry in pool since Sigel/Varner some forty years ago. I cannot convince myself that Matchroom won't do everything in its power to restore it, and I remain optimistic given the superior quality of Matchroom's management team.

Hey, you're preaching to the choir here. I do it all the time. :giggle:

The worst pool-related one I can remember is making a post about a young Tyler Styer on Facebook. He used to be called the "Baby-Faced Killer," long before he met Margaret. I made a thread about Tyler's strong play, winning a tournament, I think, and I wrote "Tyler Styer aka The Baby Killer."

Somebody posted on my thread and said, "Man, that's a brutal nickname to have," and he was serious, thinking that was Tyler's nickname.

I soon realized my faux pas and corrected it pronto.

Agree with that. If we dont see them going toe to toe for the next few years it will be a great loss

I see it differently. MR doesn't want to make a bad situation worse and the Fillers don't either. It doesn't make any sense for either party to criticize each other publicly, thereby fueling more animosity and making it harder to repair the damage later on.

Especially due to a problem not caused by the WNT or the Fillers.

Frazer is right not to say anything more than she has. She can't speak for Josh and shouldn't. Ditto for Josh. If I were in his shoes, I'd keep the matter private. There is nothing to be gained for him to come out and bash the WNT.

Sooner or later this dispute will all blow over and the Fillers will resume playing most/all big WNT events.
