Women in top level open pro tournys?

I'm not a sexiest, I don't understand it? As good as Ga Young Kim, Fischer, Fischer, and Hofstratter are. I don't see any "REAL" chance against the "boys"? It's odd, because there is no physical advantage Men have over Women? It's largely a game of finesse, not power. Seems well suited to the girls???? Hand Eye Coordination.. etc...
Yet, that isn't how is plays out most of the time? It's perplexing.
 
The top women are getting close to the men...the top women of the world...not the US women. Johnnyt
 
I would have to say that the main factor here is simply numbers, or lack of. I think that the top 10 women players in the world are getting very close to the men. Allison and Karen are two women that on the right day can (and have) snap off a large tournament with several higher end pro men.
Because there are fewer women playing pool, the lower end of the current tourning ladies is pretty low in terms of level, and there are many many more of them than there are top ten girls.

the woman play safe shots to quick and won't put enough risk in a rack to get the game finished.many times they will pass a bank to play safe.the men will take the shot and go for the run.makes a big difference over a period of time.

i agree with the "numbers" theory. also there is opportunity. women havent had much opportunity to compete in tournaments against men. Mostly just against their rivals in the WPBA. So Karen only had to train hard enough to beat Allison not to take on SVB.

I dont think it was very long ago that TONY WATSON gave KELLY FISHER atleased the 7 and break and rob her,so i dont think the women are as close as some may think,WATSON is not even in the top 10 and kelly is top 5 easy for women,so i think the women still have a long way to go to play a mans speed!

It seems to me that Ga Young Kim and Jasmin Ouschan have the best potential to play at a top level vs. males. They are still quite young and have room for improvement.

Also) Fu Xiao Fang, Chen Si Ming, Liu Sha-Sha, Yu am Cha, both Fisher's, K. Corr, and about a dozen others from China, Korea, Japan, and Taiwan.
Corr and Yu Ram Cha have won open tounaments against men already. Johnnyt

Not trying to start a pissing match, but what big tournament has a women won that men played in,a women will never win an us open or any other big name mens tournament!iam not trying to offend any women players ,there are many that play great but never ever as good as a top manpool player,it just will never happen,iam speaking only of this thread nothing personal!

So what r u saying,it was a fluke,well after that game she was offer the 6ball and would not gamble,thats all we need to no on this subject.top women do not play as near as good as top men!

Everytime this subject comes up it gets switched from tournaments to gambling. On average men are much better gamblers than women because most don't gamble. There are some top women players that do. Ga Young Kim comes to mind. Most top women players don't piss theirr money away gambling. That's why they own strings of poolrooms like Ga Young Kim, have big sponsors like Jasmin, Yu Ram Cha, Allison Fisher, to name a few. Most also have money saved. Johnnyt

what does this have to do with how they play?
if you think they play close to the men you have lost
your mind.
the women play good but not close to the top men.

I really dont see how women are getting closer to hanging with men in tournaments. What proof is there?

If one looks at the very evolved sport of Womens pro golf, one would think if it were not for the physical side, they would play equal to the men, but, they don't, and its just the way it is. Their short game is not as good as the mens, ever wonder why?
Men and women, why do we have to be equal when we're so different?
Are the best badminton or table tennis players in the world female or male?

tourney like that let me know.
i never said they are not good players
but to say they play close to top men is wrong.
