I couldn't help but notice missing players, like Gabe, Larry Nevel, Alex, Efren, Alcano.

One possible matchup I don't want to miss is Shane VB coming up against either Shawn Putnam or Danny Harriman. I think a Shane vs. Danny match would be a real good one.

And it was advertised saying 6 women were competing, but I only counted 3, Anna, Gerda, and Kim Shaw.
 
Alex is listed in the tournament brackets. He is in Shane's bracket. That could be fun if they both get there.

Players meeting was last night and the tournament starts this morning. This tournament has a VERY VERY strong field. Whomever wins this one surely deserves it.

32 byes as they used 2 x 64 player brackets and they have 96 players with FORTY players on a waiting list!! The tournament arena has 8 Olhausen tables so I think it was smart to limit the event to 96 players.

I agree. If they had a larger field, the matches would end up being played at 2:00 a.m. in the morning, similar to other events which have occurred, and the players cannot give their best performance if they do not get sleep.

at 9:30 EDT this morning, so the first matches are in progress.

Anyone notice that AZB'rs Craig Riley (TheOne) and Tony Crosby (TonyC)

Yep, I met TheOne last night, nice guy. I hope he does well in the event.

Didn't see Tony last night but saw his name on the list and I believe he was driving in this morning.

I am not sure what ranking system for the byes Dragon Promotions utilizes when seeding players. It could be that they have their own ranking system for Dragon Promotion events, but that is only a guess on my part.
