Hey, why do both England and Scotland get a team.....aren't they both part of Great Britain? Couldn't we have California and New York both get their own team?

Maybe it's because they are two different countries.

Willie....if you ever sully the good name of Scotland again by including it in the same sentence as  "England" I may be forced to play you some highland bagpipe music at the loudest volume:)

Good luck to Michael Valentine and Pat Holtz at end of the month. Recent football and rugby results and a few glasses of Drambuie have convinced us that as a nation we are completely invincible at everything ( it doesn't take much):p

16. Russia (Konstantin Stepanov and Ruslan Chinakhov)

This young russian is only 15 years old and just finshed third of the last Eurotour event (last week). I saw him play through the live stream. I' was very impressed of his level. To be continued...

LOL! Since when did it take a win for the Scots to blow their horns? That's partly why I moved over here, to get away from the noise coming from the north!!;) J/K, you guys are on a bit of a roll at the moment. And seeing you beat the French put a huge smile on this Englishman's face! Now if only our guys could wake up a bit!

I was surprised not to see Evgeny Stalev's name representing Russia. :(

I think I've seen Konstantin Stepanov at the U.S. Open in 2003.

Here's his picture:

What is this young Russian's name? I can't remember. I saw him at the 2002 U.S. Open. He seemed like such a nice young man. :)

I saw Stepanov playing in april in Switzerland. This young man play a very consistent game. He's got one of the best stroke that I've ever seen.

JAM, I don't know who's the young man on your picture...

It's gonna be real interesting this year , as the format change to winner brakes and not alternate. I'll be rooting for Filipine team, Efren is he man!, Busta also a great player.Hope they will take it home once again and show that age is not a big handicap in this game.
No one else on this forum is going to watch this turnament live in Rotterdam?

JAM, unfortunately Stalev doesn't play pool in Russia, nor he does at th EuroTour events. US of A only seems to be his only pool territory now. How can we expect excellent player which Evgeny is to represent Russia here?

Stepanov improved quite a lot since 2003. He is #1 in Europe now, twice runner-up of EuroTour.

Konstantin Zolotilov. He joined Stepanov at WCP last year and blew it actually, being unable to cope with pressure. IMO Zolotilov is in decline for a couple of recent years, though very promising some time back.
Ruslan Chinakhov is the future of Russian pool now :) Beat Tony Drago in the final of Russian Open last year, beat Souquet and Peach last week in Weert.
I expect our team to do well though they got bad draw because they have to face Efren and Busta in the second round. Though nothing is impossible.

MJ_Ro, please try to report your impressions of every day of the tournament. Nothing beats live expression. :)

I'd like to see Rodney and Corey pull it off. They were second last year to Django and Efren.

it wasn't Corey but Earl there. Corey would be nice though. Corey plus Shane even better!

I am taking my laptop with me , hopefully they will have wireless there so i will make updates almost real time.If not i'll try to make reports at the end of each day.If i don't get to stoned , that is:).

I don't know who will win but I saw Fu Jian Bo and Li He Wen playing 2/3/5 tonight in Shanghai until about 8 pm. They were pushed out of the pool room door, suitcases and cues in hand, going to the airport to leave for Beijing and then Rotterdam.

holland is a fairly modern country and their windmills are no longer in use. although an uncommon sight, they will not stone romanians with a laptop. your only fear would be the unbalanced crack-head in wooden shoes.

have a great time. look forward to them reports.

Presumably they haven't been unecessarily and unreasonably refused visas by the host country like the unfortunate incident last year preventing the other Chinese lad making his IPT debut in USA;) :)

As a American (if indeed your are) shouldn't you be rooting for the USA?
