I'm so blaming Sprite now. :D

Have you seen the movie, "Goodluck Chuck"? He's the counterpart!

Have only heard of Serge Das from Belgium, don't know the other player, so this was totally unexpected from my point of view!

This is the remaining matches: (My predictions in red)

Quarterfinals (race to 9)

25. Japan v Singapore 5 - 9
26. Belgium v Canada 9 - 7
27. Finland v Switzerland 9 - 6
28. Philippines v China 9 - 6

This will give us these semifinals (race to 9)
Singapore - Belgium 9 - 5
Finland - Philippines 8 - 9

Final (race to 11)
Singapore - Philippines 5 - 11

I hope Finland can make it, but for some strange reasons I always want (and expect) the Filipinos to win

Too far to travel for single elim. IMO. Johnnyt

I think free entry, $3,000 guaranteed, and $250,000 prize money isnt that bad, hey Ive travelled further to see a pile of rubble in a jungle :p

Of course theres also honor, to represent ones country and maybe win a world title, isnt there?

It was a nice day to watch pool at the WCP.

No matter if the favorites win or lose a good quality match is worth the time. Man i am naver gonna regret traveling 2.300km to watch this tournament, i don't know when i'm gonna have another chance to see so many world class players in the same place.

berry : i think i saw you at the WCP today , to bad they don't have wireless iternet there i could have checked your message earlier and not at 2.30 in the morning (saturday). If i see you on saturday i'm gonna buy you a beer :).

LOL, they need to hurdle Canada first. Canada might not be seen as a powerhouse, but they are.

don't worry sprite in a couple of years.. say about 10 - 20 years, Taiwanese will be ready for the global stage. For now you should be happy as they are dominating the rest of asia :D :D :D

you are right

canada 8-4 in front :(

but hey, neither Serge das or Noel are profesional poolplayers...
they have a daytime job like you and I.
they dont have the option to train 8h/day, but still they can achieve amazing results.
im 100% sure if they would play pool 8h/day there consistency would go out of the roof, and
they would be stringing more wins in a row and achieve topresults.

ps das is placing and hopefully signing my new 9ft diamond pro in 10days!! can't wait

EDIT
canada wins with 9-4 gratz to canada

Filipinos are out!!!

China played ok, but Efren missed a couple of easy shots and they are out for now. That's pool folks , just like any other sport, you have those bad days sometimes.I'm still gonna enjoy the finals even tho my favorites are out.

Remember who has been coaching the Chinese team of Fu and Li for the last couple months. Chao Fong Pang
