WORLD STRAIGHT POOL CHAMPIONSHIPS: finals update

Yes just kidding.
Oliver wins safety battle after see leaves long 2 ball which Oliver fires in uptable. Runs out rack and makes next breakshot.

Ortmann leading 182 to 171 and shooting.

Brilliant play-by-play, Randy.

I'm a big Ortmann fan here. He was one of my original picks to win it, and I'm so glad for him!

Thank you very much for the great coverage. It was very enjoyable.

NYC,

Thanks for the play by play. Wish I could have been there. What an awesome event it must have been. One day......

Peace, Joe

Randy,

Thank you! Great play by play!

Congrats to Oliver - winning one for the "over 40" crowd!

:p

Thanks for the updates and good night now!

Congrats to Ollie and our own SEE.

Hooch for gold, but settles for silver!

I cant believe the words and the last 4 days I spent glued to this site for the updates of this tournament. I shouldve just taken off of work and went to NJ with Jeeves when asked, but alas there are bills to be paid. The reports from all where very much appreciated!!!!!!!!

I know of a billiard benefit here near Allentown, PA next saturday. From my understanding Allen, Rodney and a few other are to be present as well as a challenge match against Josh Brothers. I will give up more info as I get it from one of the organizers.

FWIW the benefit is for a 14 year old local boy who has bone marrow cancer from what I was told.

Another KUDOS to the billiard world in showing our support.

Very enjoyable having this semi-play by play. It really was kinda lilke listening to the prize fights on radio when I was a kid.

I'm glad to be reading how some of u enjoyed my amatuerish play by play of the matches. During the updates, the thought crossed my no d, more than once, that I was wasting my time. In fact, up until I posted if people wanted me to continue or not, I had replied to the thread almost a dozen tea without any responses. I was wondering if my posts were even being transmitted.

I am thrilled to have been able to provide a worthwhile service to the as community.

Randy, my hat is off to you for your efforts to bring back Straight Pool. You have created a wonderful event, with a stellar field of players. I know that promoting pool tournaments can sometimes be a thankless task, and a costly one as well. So a big CONGRATULATIONS to you! And a nod to all those who helped you make it happen.

And finally, Oliver you did it again! You old dog you. They should never let you get close to the goal line, because if they do, you know how to WIN!
If I ever see you in the final four of any tournament, I'm betting on you. I guess I missed a bet this time, I was so busy sweating it. A nicer guy and a classier player you will not find anywhere. O.O. is numero uno in my book.

Like all those who posted here, it was so nice to see the updates by Stu and Randy. Thanks guys!

i agree....

jcin and i thank you for your updates! thats how we got our start by doing the same thing you are doing, talking about something you love! thats what makes it worth it, when people comment on it! and i thank you for your time!

O.O. is not numero uno in my book, but if something is true, it is that he sure knows how to win.

Congrats to the Machine!
