Would You Return / Accept A Return of a Cue If

Hey Ken, the buyer chalked and used a brand new never chalked cue. I think that would be extremely generous of you to offer a return (minus shipping both ways and ebay fees) on that cue (if you were the OP).

Mighty generous. Especially after I got done playing with the sellers never hit pristine condition 8 point fully loaded Gus Szamboti :eek::eek::eek:.. Both shafts mind you :shocked2:

Any reason timely is accepable

Just didn't like it isn't a reasonable reason to return it. He can now sell it and chalk it up as a lesson learned. Don't buy a cue without seeing and hitting with it in person. Take some responsibility for taking a risk.

Not returned in it's original unchalked condition is a big issue.
You chalk it you buy it. I would not accept that behavior. Spell that out in the ebay for sale add.
Nick :)

No chance. You sold him a brand new cue that he now used. There was NOT a problem with the cue.

Either tell him to pound sand (the nice way) or say that you will take it back with a 20% re-stocking fee or something similar. If he does not like your re-stocking fee, he can then sell it on his own if he wants to.

Of course, this is assuming you did not choose the "returns accepted" option on Ebay.

I agree with Chicago RJ.

Also, customer said the cue was not as appealing in person as in the photos, that tells me he did not like the way it looks. Why bother to chalk the cue and hit a few racks with it if you do not like the way the cue looks and are considering returning it? That just makes no sense to me. You should not have to credit him for a new cue when he is returning a used cue!!!

Not generous, just fair.

That is how I do business.

As part of the Terms, Ebay does have a choice for the Buyer to make.

And that is, Item Not as Advertised. I know that people could take a considerable amount of license having that ability to make a return based on that.

Many Sellers state in their description that colors in the photos may be different when viewed on your PC depending on how you have the Video Card set.

In this case, likely being overly picky, Buyers Regret or something else and was using this as a way to return the cue.

Return policy

I have a no questions asked return policy..............

Here is why,
I don't want to sale any one a cue they don't like.
If the customer doesn't like the cue and you don't have a no questions asked return policy, then the customer is just doing to dent the cue up and return it anyway.......

If the customer pays with pay pal or with a credit card the seller has no choice but to return the money anyway.....................

What we think is right or wrong makes NO DIFFERENCE to pay pal or any credit card company................................................

eBay is a buyers marketplace. If you don't recognize that, you will experience disappointments every now and then.

I had two recent sales with disappointed buyers who both said outright that they didn't read the listing descriptions.

Type79 is completely right. eBay is for the buyers. Even if you call eBay they will not necessarily resolve the problem in the favor of the buyer. Paypal is even worse and allows for issues up to 6 months after sale.

Lots of people have given up on eBay because of all the headaches. The seller pays all the fees and takes all the risk. All the buyer has to do is say is not as described and wants a return. And for me a negative feedback is the worst thing someone can do on eBay so I will do everything in my power to avoid that.
