Wow Jasmine is for real.

Allison's a great 9-ball player, but when she started on the WPBA tour she had few people to worry about beating. The pockets were huge until a few years ago. At this time no one is going to win any kind of percentage like Allison did, there are just too many champions from so many countries on the tour now. At present no one has to win anymore than one title a year. Johnnyt

She went deep in the 14.1 championships. You don't luck your way into that. She is for real.

Ernie, bring your best game man, i'm ready for you, hope your good sir. I was lucky enough to have Ernie as a guest, he is now a great friend and will be forever, he is a old school pool player and we know alot of the same people but some how missed each other all those years. :)
I believe when I was visiting with you, I mentioned that Jasmin was the gal to watch. I'm glad to see you checked out her game. She has certainly made a big slash on the womens' tour. Many observers think they are seeing the torch getting ready to be handed off to Jasmin, which I believe could be a good thing. She has all the qualities necessary to give womens pool a big shot in the arm.

Eric, the next time I see you, you better have that 1-Pocket game dialed in!

Eric was a great host when I was in the 'hood recently. For several hours all we did was BS and shoot pool. My mind was so far away from the stresses at work, it was truly therapeutic.

Well, there is one player that has to win two every year, and her name is Allison Fisher. Even if you only consider 2005 to present, she has won at least two in each season and 13 of the last thrity rankings events played.

The statement "the pockets were huge until a few years ago" is false, although a popular statement on the forum. To be honest, though, tighter pockets only help the snooker champions, as Allison Fisher, Kelly Fisher, and Karen Corr are surely the three best pocketers in the history of women's professional nine ball. I believe Allison's title count would be even higher if the pockets had been tight since her arrival on tour.

Allison has been WPBA player of the year in eleven of the last twelve WPBA seasons. Whatever the equipment, whatever the competition, she has proven year after year after year after year that she is the standardbearer for her sport.

This year seems to be the year on AZB in which some fans of women's pool and others have chosen to make light of Allison's pedigree. I still can't figure out why, but I won't allow such nonsense to spread.

Allison is the best ever, and has dominated in every portion of her career, against all competition and in all conditions.

I believe that the test of a true champion in any sport is that their talent and skills "change" the game they play. Allison has most certainly accomplished that feat and continues to do so everyday she plays. She is a GREAT champion and a fine representative for the game of pool. As has been stated the competition she faced in her debut years was not nearly as fierce as todays and yet she still continues to win a larger percentage of the offered tournaments every year she competes. She is most definately the most dominant female player that has ever wielded a cue.

Now enters Jasmin Ouschan...a highly skilled, highly competitive performer who is just now starting to come into her own within the women's tour and the world pool scene alltogether. I agree she is a most impressive player indeed and deserves the respect and admiration she is receiving, but I hope we don't just go running to rip the crown off Allison's head and place it atop Jasmin's as the dominant female cueist of the pool world. I'm just going to sit back and enjoy the ride as this talented newcomer does that all for herself. She is a force to be reckoned with and will make her mark via her determination, hard work and competitive nature that we will all enjoy witnessing. So won't you join me and enjoy the next level of evolution within women's pool...Jasmin Ouschan. I can't wait to see the changes she envokes on the game!

Well, I saw her for the first time playing Alison Fisher in a TV match that she almost won and could recognize the form, composure, and determination of someone who was going to play very well. She is really amazing to watch. The photo here I found online recently and I think she is breaking ten ball. Shall we call this extra effort? Very athletic looking here!

That is an amazing image!!!

I have a video where Jasmin beats Kelly Fisher in the 2006 Worlds. In the last rack she obliterates the rack and makes 5 - FIVE balls and gets perfect for the easy run out.

I am not ready to say Jasmin is the best female player right now. I am ready to say that she is the one who is working the hardest towards being that player. She is doing everything she can to compete and be allowed to compete with the best players in the world. And the byproduct of this effort is that she is the highest profile player who is elevating the status of women's billiards. She is working hard to make it a genderless sport not as a crusade but instead through her performances.

She can play - no doubt about it!

That is a very interesting theory indeed about the testosterone. I remember the first time I saw Jasmine was when she beat Allison Fisher in the finals of a major and the way Jasmine celebrated was amazing. The room just ate it up and just kept applauding like crazy.

My mentor said, "What a woman."

hmmmm

Jasmin is having a great run and playing STRONG!

IMO Ali is the best ever.

Jasmine may prove to be the best right now but Ali is the greatest all time in my estimation.Jas may very well pass Alison someday but that is many many titles away.

Her name is JASMIN, not JASMINE...

I believe she is, and will be, the best female player ever lived. She will win a lot more of the WPBA events, but not only that, she will soon win a men's event too...

Jazz stated that one of her goals is to challenge the top male players and she has been doing that - so she is not completely dedicated to playing exclusively on the WPBA - she bypassed the last WPBA tournament to play in a tournament with top male players in there she defeated Thomas Engert. I think the best is yet to come .

Finally a good prediction from the Mighy Carnac of pool.

Certainly Allison Fisher has earned her fame but the last time I saw Allison on tv she looked pretty rough ... Like all the work and titles had caught up to her and were wieghing her down. No doubt about it though she is the top woman player to come along in a long time if not ever... Jasmine is just getting started give her time she certainly has the stroke to be one of the greats and the confidence ... But she till has a long path to go to get where Allison is ...

Still I will put my money where my mouth is and Jasmine will win her share of titles ... She could very well be what Billie Jean King was to tennis and break the barrier between men and womens pool. And she is good looking enough to make many a mans head turn. She is certainly very marketable to say the least ... So here is hoping that Jasmine plays like Fisher and is as marketable as Jeanette Lee at least ... Hey our game needs all the help it can get and Jasmine can certainly help to boost the games popularity and she is certainly no Anna Kournakova ... Jasmine looks fine and has game ... Anna looked fine and had no game...

So go Jasmine ....
Here we go again......

I guess winning two Grand Slam doubles titles and being ranked in the top 10 equals "no game". Right?

I never saw her play until now. I know she is the real deal by her sucess recently, but I had no idea she plays like she does.

what I like:

she has pep in her step, when she sees a piece of chalk on the rail in her line of site she bounces over there and moves it, she gets over the cue like she means it, her break speaks for itself. She hits more balls like a man-not rolling the balls like Karen or Alison, just a differrent style. I like the way she talks she is very self assured and determined.

she reminds me of Jean Balkulis alot. she is head and shoulders the best female player I have seen since Jean.

I learned alot about hormones from a Dr friend bodybuilding, one thing that could possibly explain how she hits the balls is the make up of her muscle tissue, there are 2 kinds of muscle fibres red and white(dast and slow twitch) I cant remember which is which-but one makes you stronger. Men hit the CB different than most wemon because men have different type of muscle fibre and more testrerone-everyone has testerone some people more than others, mine has awalys been low-almost inb the range of a female, and I have high estrogen(i take a drug to keep it low). Because my horomone profile is more like a female I have never been strong for my size. I would bet that Jasmine has more male like hormone levels-which explaines the strength of her stroke and why most wemon roll the balls. theis has NOTHING to do with sexual preferance or coordiantion or looks(sometimes)-so dont draw conclusions, this is about strength only-part of pool, coordination and talent are completely different. I believe that muscle strength is key to playing the best pool in the world and why men as a rule play stronger than wemon, but what the right talented woman has that strength like Jean or Jasman they are as good as the men, sadly most girls dont have that muscle type.

Man she is awesome, she should be in the US Open-its a open tournment. The men only thing is jive-anyone should be allowed, period!!! the best person should win it no the best man, or best white guy, or best black guy. I hate that.

Actually fast and slow twitch fibres have more to due with speed of muscle contraction then strength persay. Sprinters have a higher percentage of fast twitch than marathoners for instance. I'll pretty sure that world class weight lifters will have a lot of slow twitch.
What having a high fast twitch percentage would give her (if that is indeed the case) is greater acceleration over a given period of time, thereby producing a faster break speed and break speed is what it is all about once you can reliably hit the rack in the right place.
I agree the Open should be open no ifs, ands, or buts.

Fast Twitch vs. Slow Twitch

I saw the same match and never thought once she hit like a man. The thought never even entered my mind. I did notice her stroke. Its just different from others thats all.

I did notice how she moved the cue ball around more than most 9 ball players. I think that comes from playing 14.1.

But shoots like a man......oh please......

How does a "man" shoot anyway? I mean I know players who have all kinds of different styles. Can someone explain the manly way to shoot pool?
