They made an attempt in women's mma with one whom will not be named
He eventually got beat by a chick, and hasent been spoken of since
Anyone know if a transgender can play against women? I couldn't find any rule for it. Johnnyt
A lot of people are starting to care. More will care when most of the high school sports scholarships go to them. Johnnyt
Come on. Really? I guess I'm in the minority. I just don't give a rats a$$ as long as they don't shower with my daughter niece or grand daughter. If they shower with me I've got a surprise for them. You don't want to know. Trust me.
In pool, the only women required to be tested are the ones who have been identified as trans. As far as I know this has not been a requirement for anyone else yet.
Rhea, I hear you. I'm not debating that what you've told me as true. Again, I'm not engaging in a judgement of wrong or right for either side. That having been said...
Here's how this is going to play out: someone who is a trans or appears to be a trans will try to register for a WPBA event. They will be challenged, then a lawsuit will ensue charging arbitrary discrimination against them being challenged in the first place.
A parallel lawsuit will be filed challenging the previously quoted WPBA policy. Advocacy groups for the LGBT community will launch a well orchestrated publicity campaign and will threaten to boycott sponsors of the WPBA as well as anyone doing business with them. In all likelihood the legal fees alone will be a threat to the WPBA, which will result in a settlement of some sort. If not, the sponsors will run for cover and pull (or threaten to pull) their dealings with the WPBA. I would imagine that sponsorship dollars are the lifeblood of the WPBA's finances and a threat of them even decreasing will enough to bring a "reconsideration" of the policy.
I've seen this done so many times it's basically the textbook, go-to manuver in the social change play book. -Z-
I'd be more concerned with how a stranger got into my home.
Good luck with that. I've got a lot of surprises for them too. Punji pits, claymores and then me. Just kidding..... or not?
The policy as is, is fine, and just so you know there are Zero trans women who would or could qualify for the WPBA currently.
What about you ? Figured you'd be near - world beater by now? Or at least somewhere in the not too distant future?
This is false: In order to get the documentation needed by an endocronologist you must not have higher than the AVERAGE female testosterone level, that is the maximum allowed for a transgender athlete, you cannot have the maximum allowed for a female. And your female hormone levels have to stay at the AVERAGE female estrogen level on a minimum.
When you decide to take steps to modify your gender to suit how you feel about yourself then you should give up on competitive ambitions that are gender divided. And stop expecting society to bend to accommodate you. It's not the end of the world and hopefully your happiness doesn't ride on it. If so you're in for plenty of additional disappointment. Enough is enough already.

I agree 100%. Great post. Johnnyt
Four pages of vitriol and nobody cares to acknowledge what I pointed out in the third post. This barrier has been broken and pool world was not turned upside down.
Annie Mayes, a.k.a. Annie O., was a respected cuemaker (Efren played with one of her cues and good luck finding someone willing to give theirs up these days) and WPBA player, allowed in the league with the support of the other players. The pool community held a benefit for her when she came down with terminal cancer. Here's a thread mourning her passing and praising her memory in a different time:

Right now some young person with an interest in billiards, wanting to become a better player is running across the world's most visited billiards webpage and seeing this thread on the front page with its fear-baiting, threats of violence against already marginalized people, and angry dying old men trying to out-dick each other who can't make sense of the world crashing down around them. AZB is a valuable resource and may be the world's best collection of pool knowledge and history. This thread is an embarrassment to AZB.
Derrr, why nobody want to play pool wid us no more? Why no pro pool player post here no more?
This post has been heavily edited to not call out every drooling f*ckbag with perverse fantasies of female impersonators peeping up their daughters' skirts. Shameful, disgusting, damning thread.
