From AZ Home Page - I just wondering what took so long to make this announcement. Note to next president - before you start dictated to players how things are going to be, show them that you can give them and bring them something worthwhile first.

WPBA Announces Presidential Resignation

It is to our disappointment that we have to announce the resignation of John Rousseau, as President of the Women’s Professional Billiard Association.

The Board of Directors speaks sincerely to say that we appreciate all of the hard work, dedication, time, and commitment that he brought to the WPBA and the opportunities he created for the women of this organization.

We sincerely wish John well in all his future endeavors and again, truly thank him for all he has done.

Sincerely,
WPBA Board of Directors

thanks joe - guess I missed it between the threads on aiming, the APA, or people trying to sell junk.

Would have been better if that other thread had WPBA in the title, but since it didn't, a lot of people probably never bother opening it.

the men have no tour.
now no wpba guess im not the only one who will be playing poker.

The link above mentioned the following:
"when play began at this year's debut event, March's San Diego Classic, a contentious players meeting only heightened tensions within the WPBA. Players and board members reported an openly hostile environment, which eventually led to a private, players-only meeting. Rousseau remained WPBA president — until the WPBA's press release this week."

Can anyone provide any details on what transpired at either of the two contentious players' meetings?

I know Eva was extremely not happy about the switch from Brunswick to Diamond.

Let me put on my flameproof suit.

These two threads might give you an idea.

That is so wrong. Ewa's relationship with Brunswick had nothing to do with anything. Believe me...our players are appreciative of any company in the industry that gives their support to the our tour and the game.

I won't go into what happened at a closed door players' meeting...but I can correct a statement that indicates any of the issues were centered on the change from Brunswick to Diamond. That is just not correct.

If this is the case, then I stand corrected. I was informed that Ewa almost had a nuclear meltdown about it.

Lets be clear about something.
Ewa's meltdown wasn't due to Brunswick being dropped.

It was due to the statement made by John Rousseau ABOUT Brunswick in front of everyone, saying that the WPBA would not be ripped off by Brunswick anymore or something very close to that.

That pissed a lot of people off.
Ewa wanted an apology and instead, J.R. started talking to her like she was beneath him.
You can figure out the rest yourself.

Don't mess with Ewa! I thought everyone already knew that. This is a beautiful woman who is full of spunk. She is intelligent, polite, respectful and considerate, with a good sense of humor. But if you cross swords with her, expect to be handed your head.

JR came on these boards as Collection Guru where he posted in caps for 6 months or a year despite scores of requests to turn them off. I believe he gave the reasson that he just wasnt going to cave in. That told me all i needed to know about JR.

dave...I know John, have been to his house, worked with him, and spoken with him about his desires to help the women succeed. He may be "rough around the edges", but the man KNOWS business, has contacts everywhere, and sincerely wanted to help out. The women have shot themselves in the foot on this one, imo, and I'm not the only one in the industry who believes this. I have always been (and still am) a huge supporter of the WPBA, but I think this was simply a bad move. With only two events in their "tour", the WPBA better sit up take some notice, if they expect to survive into 2011. jmo

You don't have to tell me.

Big ego control freak is one thing.

Big ego control freak trying to make everyone else subservient when that's not the way the system works is something altogether different.

Does anyone know the official reason why Diamond was chosen over Brunswick?

Why did J.R. say that the WPBA would not be ripped off by Brunswick?
