wpba on pay per veiw

The WPBA will be picking the matches with an eye toward putting exciting match ups on the streaming table. There will also be interviews with the players. The commentary will be by various WPBA players as well. You will be able to ask questions and interact with them in the live chat that goes with the PPV video.

This is most excellent news... love it, in fact. Good job, Justin. Thanks for bringing live pool to us.

That sounds like a pretty good idea, and might be worth paying for. Will the PPV matches be live? Will they be unedited? Will they have good commentatary, or will they have Mitch Lawrence?

I think one of the best thing about TAR doing the PPV is that they sometimes get some interesting commentators. I hope this will continue with the WPBA arrangement. It would be nice to hear other WPBA's commentaries beside Dawn, Ewa and Jeanette ... unedited and live.

And ... no Mitch!!! :D

So, Travis Trotter....makes me wonder, are you really a girl? You're thread was posted very shortly after I received my notification from the WPBA for players. Interesting coincidence unless you have nothing to do but hang out at the WPBA website all day...

My guess: Travis Trotter = Allison Fisher :D

I don't think they will drop tv- hope they don't as I usually tape them- ppv is good but I would like to know what matches are available before signing up for it

They're not dropping TV. As long as the WPBA is willing to swap content for commercial inventory, ESPN will continue to show women's pool.

I looked at the time he posted it. I read it on WPBA site at that time too. I could have been first...but didn't want ROY laughing at me. Johnnyt

This is fantastic news. TAR is expanding their involvement around the country at various events, they are a creative and talented group.

I applaud the WPBA for this decision! :)

They are still on TV. ESPN will be taping on Saturday and Sunday. We will be streaming live on Thursday and Friday.

Usually all of the matches before ESPN tapes the final 4 or 5 are lost forever. No visual record of any kind. That is not so anymore.

That's good news then. I thought they had lost their sponsorship and were being kicked off tv.

It would have been a little more courteous if the WPBA would have included TAR's name somewhere in the press release. This could be a mutually beneficial venture for all parties concerned if consideration for both is put at the forefront. I hope this all goes well and is a great success.

Exactly - why wasn't TAR mentioned? They are very reputable and the mention would only help the announcement.
