wpba on pay per veiw

Congrats

Wonderful news Jason,

I've gotten so tired of watching the same 5 or 6 players all the time on ESPN, this will be a wonderful opportunity to see the rest of the top women players.

Thanks TAR and WPBA.

Yes we are doing them.

It was supposed to be announced a little smoother than this but we are partnering with WPBA to stream the matches before the TV rounds.

We will be streaming 14 matches over the first two days.

I will post all the info here today.

It is smooth on the WPBA site. It's just Travis got mixed up going from their site to AZ site. Johnnyt

I look forward to seeing any additional information on this that you can provide. The more details the better, so we know what to expect. I might not be able to sit in front of the computer all day as I'll be working, so detailed information is great so I can plan. Thanks a bunch for providing this information!

Congrats Justin! I just sent you an email before I read the entire thread. I'm excited for you guys - that's a nice gig. ;)

Right on, JC and Chad! Sounds like the WPBA got the right guys for the job. Hopefully, this will be the start of something permanent?

Glad you guys came to an arrangement. Of all the people that could have leaked this, whodathunk it would be Travis Trotter. LOL

Now the WPBA Women will need a slightly bigger suitcase for two nice outfits. One for PPV and one if they make the TV rounds also. Johnnyt

I was wondering about that post too. I'm old...I thought I missed something again. Johnnyt

My first thought is genuine excitement. My second is to wonder which players we will get to watch. In truth, the only players you regularly get to see on TV are Allison Fisher, Kelly Fisher, Karen Corr, Ga Young Kim, Xiaoting Pan, Jasmin Ouschan and Jeanette Lee. If the stream will focus on their matches against the unseeded opponents, I am not very interested.

If the stream will focus on showcasing the rest of the WPBA Top 16 or fast-rising newcomers to the tour or if it shows the untelevised single elimination matches, I am very interested and I am a very likely purchaser going forward. If, alternativley, the intent is to give some airtime to the have-nots of the tour, I'm really not very interested.

So I guess I have what you'd call reserved excitement here, and look forward to learning more about the product offering.

Hey, a thread here on AZ started by the infamous Travis Trotter is pretty darned smooth in my books ... rock on I say ! All the best with this venture, I hope it works out for all concerned.

I don't think they will drop tv- hope they don't as I usually tape them- ppv is good but I would like to know what matches are available before signing up for it

That stinks if true, I enjoyed watching it on tv. I guess it must be the economy. Hopefully they will find a new sponsor.

They are still on TV. ESPN will be taping on Saturday and Sunday. We will be streaming live on Thursday and Friday.

Usually all of the matches before ESPN tapes the final 4 or 5 are lost forever. No visual record of any kind. That is not so anymore.

The WPBA will be picking the matches with an eye toward putting exciting match ups on the streaming table. There will also be interviews with the players. The commentary will be by various WPBA players as well. You will be able to ask questions and interact with them in the live chat that goes with the PPV video.
