A few yrs back on tv, He was playing Mika and there was friction as Mika accused him of doing something, I think he told Corey that he was sitting
too close to the table, but to tell you the truth there is something about Mika , he seems to have a chip on his shoulders. But Corey will always come up with something new, do you remember his famous, smash em up one pocket break, but it did not last too long.

Actually, Corey used that smash-em-up one pocket break in a very recent match. But only once or twice, not every game.

Maybe he breaks more consistently using the bridge... Maybe not...
Maybe he just playin mind games with his opponent... Maybe not...
Maybe using the bridge on the break, helps to make him more comfortable using the bridge when needed for other shots on the table... Maybe it's all unrelated.
Maybe he's just kinda bored and screwing around... Hmmm....
 
or maybe Corey overheard Mika giving him a hard time about soft breaking? so it was payback?

I wish I was there to see it!....now EVERONE is gonna break with the bridge on Mika..............I hope!:D
 
Second Verse Same As the First

Here's my Corey Deuel and the Mechanical Rack story. I posted it a while ago, but I think it belongs in this thread! :D

I got a hustlin' a hustler story! I've mentioned it before on this forum, but it bears mentioning again.

'Bout 3 years ago, we were attending the $25,000 Viking Tour season finale tournament in North-something, Ohio. Larry Nevel won it that year, Mike Davis came in second place, and Johnny Archer came in third. There was a little fireworks in the Davis vs. Archer match, but that's another story. :)

The pool room was packed, and it was the eve of the finals day. So, if a player was fixing to gamble, it was the last call for action. Ohio has a lot of tough players, and most of them were there. Rather than matching up the standard way, Keith who's a pretty good one-handed player, learning from the best (Ronnie Allen), targets none other than Corey Duel. :eek:

Now, he knew Corey, being in his homestate at that time, was probably holding pretty good or at least could get a committee together. So he decided to try to fenagle him a spot. So he propositioned Corey that if Corey would spot him a few balls, Keith would play each shot one-handed, a nickel a set. :cool:

Part Two.

Corey paused strategically. While he mulled it over, he huddled with his pal, Dee Adkins, and soon came back with a proposition for Keith. He'd play Keith even, with no spot, with Corey shooting each shot with the mechanical bridge. Keith licked his chops and said, "You're on." :p

Corey didn't lick his chops, but the members of his backers committee were! ;)

When the Dust Settled!

Unbeknownst to Keith, Corey is a rake mechanic, and while Keith thought he had the dead nuts, Corey barbecued him in record time. The hometown crowd cheered, and Keith realized he stepped into quicksand. Fortunately, it didn't weigh too much, but I think it did go for 2 sets. :p

he also quit the final rack with 5 balls left on the table

I'm gonna have to say poor sportsmanship from Corey in this match
 
I like his creativity at the table, the bridge is a legal tool in the game so he can use it for what he likes. Ive seen people use the bridge when it wasnt really needed, no big deal.
As for him wiping the balls on the last rack, same as players throwing in the towel in the old days imho. At least he wasnt taking Mika out of stroke by conceding balls every rack, like ive seen Earl do.
 
I stopped by today with JA to just see the set up and watch alittle. All of a sudden JA says "look at Corey" We saw him do it twice and as some one said earlier in this thread he was making great contact and dropping balls. He was 6 to 1 up when he stated this from what i saw, still i would hate to be the guy he was playing and feeling like, I was worth so little as an oppornent hat he could begin to F*(ck around like this. I wish I could break like cory with the rest.
 
I seen Corey play at Derby City a few years ago and he played every shot with the bridge, he would break just like he was last night and then run out with the bridge, very impressive. Also did you see Corey soft break in 10 ball against Larry Nevel, he had Larry so mad he was just hitting balls as hard as he could and then walking away talking to himself.
