Just to clarify, you aren't saying
this is the old yellow Westinghouse Micarta are you?

no it isn't the old stuff.i had this stuff custom made for ferrules and to me it plays better than the old stuff,it is lighter and stronger.i am giving some to a few of the guys who have helped me in various ways with cue making here at AZ.

it is slightly lighter in weight than LBM but stronger and cleaner.no black spots or weak spots.it also stays very clean and is chalk resistant.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I guess we can agree to disagree.

just out of curiosity, what are we disagreeing about?
That your new one is better than the old one.

But, if this is stronger and lighter than LBM, I'll want more.

From the photos, it looks similar to stuff on Richard Harris cues.

But I'll judge in person :D

that is kind of what i thought he was disagreeing about, but i thought to myself,"how could anyone disagree with something they haven't seen or tired.i had this stuff custom made so i know he hasn't seen it or tried it.

"There is a principle which is a bar against all information, which is proof against all arguments and which cannot fail to keep a man in everlasting ignorance - that principle is contempt prior to investigation."

I don't know about this stuff but I know there is some other material out there that looks very similar to old Yellow Micarta but is a different material and plays differently. Yellow Micarta had some good points going for it plus some bad ones. People now crave the stuff either because they remember and crave the playing characteristics or just because of the nostalgic ambiance that goes with it or just believe since it was done away with or they heard it was good then they have to have it. I feel, that the yellow cast the Micarta got over time, was a real draw-back to the use of the material. If you had this made and it plays similar to the Old Yellow Micarta, I would like it much better if it would be white in color myself or is the purpose intended to fool someone into thinking it is something it's not?

By the way, I also was wondering just what you two had agreed to disagree on. Oh well.

I want it, too!!! I'm a fan of melamine because of it's strength & light weight, mostly it's hard & crisp feel. If this stuff is better, then i'm game for trying it. I agree with Dick, it would be a whole lot cooler if it were white. Do you get it in rods? Or tubes? Or do you get it in pre-made ferrule blanks?

i got tubes with .250" hole.the intent was not to fool anyone,it is just the way it looks when made this way.i want to make it clear that this stuff is new and imo better than the old stuff.it is very pale yellow in color.it isn't as dark as the old stuff.

as far as what we agree to disagree on,i have no idea.i guess it is like Joey said he thinks the old plays better, but he hasn't seen or tried this stuff.

i shipped out the samples to you guys this morning.

Don't stress it, Mason. There's nothing to disagree about. As of now you are the only one with any experience with the stuff. I look forward to trying it out. Sounds nice

Hello Mason, I would also like to try some. Send a PM with the price!!

Thanks

Pm sent.i want to get a few more opionions before i start selling it.i have let two local cuemakers and several players try it and so far everyone likes it,but i want to makes sure first.the yellow color puts some people almost in a trance, and i want to make sure they don't just like it b/c it's yellow.

i am getting covered up with PM's so i am going to go ahead and price the stuff.prices include shipping USPS to CONUS.remember all pieces will have a .250" hole,so if you like capped ferrules you will have to change for these.

1 ferrule = $7.50
1 foot = $50.00
