My sentiments exactly. I'm in for one. Talked to Dean and like what he has to say.

Dawgie said:This is a funny way to buy a cue. I bought one and I can tell you it's the nuts with a capital N. When I first got it I took it to the hall. Couldn't miss a shot even if I tried. Next I closed my eyes and still couldn't miss a shot. After that I turned off the lights and you won't beleive this but I STILL couldn't miss a shot. Now for the big one - I left the lights off, closed my eyes, turned to cue backwards, and shot left handed with the right hand tied behind my back AND blindfolded! Yikes, I only missed one shot in a race to 9 with our local pro. Now I'm going on the road and I expect to make millions.
I'm not a retired engineer but I did stay at the Holiday Inn Express last night.

Hierovision said:There's a lot being left in the air, but that's just good marketing in this case. It's not the IPT, it's a small-time start up company making a (possibly) new concept cue. It's intriguing and makes me want to find out if the claims apply to me... but I'm resisting because it feels too much like gambling haha.
Some people like to gamble.
Drew said:You're right...this isn't the IPT. People don't fall for the same trick twice (usually). I mean, I really did think that pool players had grown a little more intelligent over the last year. This Dean character has now made off with several thousand dollars and not a single person has even seen what the cue looks like or where it's made. Nobody has even heard of the cue being used. In fact, only one person has even heard of this Dean guy. I really hope this isn't a robbery.
Has anyone seen that Family Guy where Peter turns down a boat in favor of the "Mystery Box"?
They don't come with all the hype and nutwinging ?flips said:You're wrong; I ordered one his prototype cues today, and he made it clear that he didn't require a deposit. There's a post somewhere on this site, where someone confirmed that Dean sent him his cue, and that it can indeed be used as a pool cue.
Tell me this, how is spending $300 on Dean's prototype any different then buying a special shaft, sight unseen for $200 or purchasing any cue, custom or production, without playing with it first?

Not to be a smartass but "special" 200 dollar shafts have decent resale value in case you don't like them. This cue may or may not, who knows (the answer is no one... cause no one knows what this cue actually is)flips said:You're wrong; I ordered one his prototype cues today, and he made it clear that he didn't require a deposit.
