My sentiments exactly. I'm in for one. Talked to Dean and like what he has to say.

This is a funny way to buy a cue. I bought one and I can tell you it's the nuts with a capital N. When I first got it I took it to the hall. Couldn't miss a shot even if I tried. Next I closed my eyes and still couldn't miss a shot. After that I turned off the lights and you won't beleive this but I STILL couldn't miss a shot. Now for the big one - I left the lights off, closed my eyes, turned to cue backwards, and shot left handed with the right hand tied behind my back AND blindfolded! Yikes, I only missed one shot in a race to 9 with our local pro. Now I'm going on the road and I expect to make millions.

I'm not a retired engineer but I did stay at the Holiday Inn Express last night.

ya sure it wasnt budget inn !!! :D

the guy is not making anyone buy anything , im on the list and i called him talked to him for a long time ,not just cues ,about everything, sometimes i like gambling , but 300 bucks is not gambling ,3000 bucks that is gambling hell im a newbie here and id buy it just because of the uniqueness of it , and if plays like i like that is extra :D :D :D

oh lol , no worries , trust me i do not gamble like that myself rofl :D ;) well occasionaly depends on the circumstances . i was slow on the uptake damn flu bug . ick !

Carolina uses the same wood pin on their carom cues. I am curious to see if Carolina could do the same but using a shaft with a pro taper instead of using an euro taper for carom.

There's a lot being left in the air, but that's just good marketing in this case. It's not the IPT, it's a small-time start up company making a (possibly) new concept cue. It's intriguing and makes me want to find out if the claims apply to me... but I'm resisting because it feels too much like gambling haha.

Some people like to gamble.

You're right...this isn't the IPT. People don't fall for the same trick twice (usually). I mean, I really did think that pool players had grown a little more intelligent over the last year. This Dean character has now made off with several thousand dollars and not a single person has even seen what the cue looks like or where it's made. Nobody has even heard of the cue being used. In fact, only one person has even heard of this Dean guy. I really hope this isn't a robbery.

Has anyone seen that Family Guy where Peter turns down a boat in favor of the "Mystery Box"?

You're wrong; I ordered one his prototype cues today, and he made it clear that he didn't require a deposit. There's a post somewhere on this site, where someone confirmed that Dean sent him his cue, and that it can indeed be used as a pool cue.

Tell me this, how is spending $300 on Dean's prototype any different then buying a special shaft, sight unseen for $200 or purchasing any cue, custom or production, without playing with it first?

Alright, well you're asking the wrong person. First, I won't spend more than $200 on a cue. Second, I won't buy a cue without first trying it. I'm sorry, I'd like to know what I am getting before I shell out some cash for it. And I'm cheap.

I can understand buying a cue before hitting with it, but I can't understand paying money for a mystery object. Nobody knows where these cues are coming from nor what they look like. Fact is, Dean has hyped this cue to the point where people are willing to pay to find out exactly what it is.

I remember a year ago when the Atrox tool came out. Everybody and their mother bought one at some special price. It turned out to be a little plastic toy. Not many people liked it but hey, it's only $30 right? Now you guys are buying into another fad but this one is 10 times as expensive.

BTW: I know the post you are talking about. The OP of that thread has been a member of AZ since December 2007 and has made 10 posts. This user has not yet posted any pictures of the cue though he has been asked a few times. Deanoc has not posted any pictures of the cue and he has been asked several times. Both of these users claim that we don't need to see any pictures because it looks like any other sneaky pete carom cue.

Not to be a smartass but "special" 200 dollar shafts have decent resale value in case you don't like them. This cue may or may not, who knows (the answer is no one... cause no one knows what this cue actually is)
