Okay okay, I finally got sucked into this thread and I said I wasn't going to do it. Like I said before Grady and I have had our ups and downs, but we are fine now, so that's good enough for me.
Grady is and always has been an emotional guy, who wears his heart on his sleeve. If he loves you, he loves you and if he hates you, look out! That's Grady. I've ALWAYS enjoyed seeing Grady in action, because he will be doing some talking. To his opponent and the crowd. He can be hilarious at times, funnier than anything you ever read in this forum. I know, I've seen him crack up a room full of hard core gamblers.
That's the Grady I miss, much more so than sullen E.S. I would LOVE to see him come back on here and forget about all this nonsense with invites. That tournament is OVER! I want to hear his stories about the games he made in L.A. and Colorado Springs and everywhere else. I mean the guy did gamble with all the greatest poolplayers of the last 40 years. A lot more than me, more even than fearless Freddie.
Grady is a living encyclopedia on the great players, more so because he played them, not sweated them like I did. No one on here besides Billy could tell us more about how Ronnie in his prime compared with Efren. Or how good Greg Stevens played or Buddy for the cash. Or Shorty, or Red, or anyone else for that matter. I'd love to hear his opinion on the all time greats and why. I want to argue with him about Richie Florence vs. Bernie Schwartz etc etc.
More than being a being a famous One Pocket legend, Grady is a true legend of the road. His road stories could probably fill ten books. EVERY pool player from the last three to four decades knew who Grady was, and if they gambled, he gave them action.
I don't know why that Grady hasn't showed up on here. He's far more interesting than the guy I see arguing with other promoters. Let it go and come back and let's shoot the shit. For starters, I want to know if you played Hopkins in the 80's. You two were the best before Efren emerged. I know you played Ronnie several times.
