do you guys see the whole picture when you keep yourselves in the little nitty gritty details all the time, who's right, who's wrong, who gives a f___?
I have been playing 46 years, and I have heard Grady's name tossed around all of my playing life. Jay is right, Grady is a legend in his own right, and deserves to be respected in the Pool world. But, the Pool world, as cruel as it is sometimes, you are only as good as your last game.
Grady has a world of knowledge, probably a whole lot more, than some come lately administrators of so-called Pool organizations that enjoy being the ones in charge yet they don't even accomplish their own goals, short term or long term, and give nothing but excuses when confronted. Nothing ever gets resolved unless it is confronted and held accountable for.
I don't hold a high opinion of the UPA, and my past dealings with Frank Alvarez left a very bitter taste in my mouth. He seems to enjoy being important in his own mind, and I would be willing to bet a large sum of money that I could give him a game on the table.
If the Pool world is all Rose colored glasses, why are there so many threads started about making it better and more professional?
Grady has his right to his opinion, whether you agree or disagree with it, and considering his involvement and knowledge of Pool, it does carry weight with me. A World Championship by invitation alone is a subjective joke. Let's see, I could be a World Champion if I got to pick my competition.
If noone takes the time to point out the inequities or unfairness that exists in the Pool world, how is it ever to become better???
To hit you on a local level, what about unfair handicapping systems?
I, for one, hope Grady comes back, because we will be more with him, than without him.
