Your best playing cues

You got that all wrong ... it's every cue I'm selling
This is the best and most honest answer I have seen.
Well wait a minute I take that back, cause cuejoey said one of mine played best. :)

It worked .. someone bought the Judd Fuller cue :D

Hightower cue plays the best??? Humm ... I don't have one yet .. hummm ....

I have to add my new Jim White cue to my list from last year.

In the future I'm sure I'll also be adding Mr. Searing and Mr. Showman! :)

All in all I find the question a bit perplexing...

Do you want the ones that hit a ton, hit like a truck, hit rock solid, or the proverbial "plays jam up" .. and if so, which is better so I know how to rank them.. :D

JV
LOL!!! I don't know what's funnier. Someone who uses these phrases or someone who agrees.

Best playing cue hands down is a Rick Howard ebony into ebony with a single red veneer. The cue belonged to George Breedlove for years and once you play with it everything else just seems like less of a cue. Funny how cost has no bearing on play as this was not a super expensive cue.

Rick Howard .. I forgot him on my list .. excellect cue and very fair price.

While "best playing cue" is subjective at best, we are lucky to have choices of many fine cue makers.

For me it's the cue(s) that every cue maker dreams to rival (2 of 6 Southwests & 1 of 1 Kersenbrock I own now) :D

favorites

in order of when i recieved and played with, bluegrass, capone and my scruggs. as of now i love the scuggs hit but the ivory ferruls i think are giving me trouble but man does it have a sweet hit. like when you play golf and hit a perfect shot when you don't really feel anything but money. makes no sense but i tried. my favorite might be my new scruggs titelist conversion but i haven't hit it yet. so saadd>>>>

Favorites are a Murray Tucker, Zylr and old Southwest. All have 3/8x11 pins and hit stiff, so I guess that's why. Also really like the feel of Rauenzahn 3/8x10 pin cues for 8-ball.

It has to all be personal preference, right? The best control of a cue ball I ever saw was Cliff Joyner playing 9-ball with an old Meucci, so I would never knock anyone's choice of cue.

Best Hitting Cues

In no particular order:

Tascarella Full Splice
Mike Bender
Tim Scruggs
Mike Capone
Joel Hercek Full Splice

My current player is the Scruggs with the new ivory joint, just never felt anything else like it. Although if asked and I had to pick, I might say I'd have to wait till my new Mike Cochran is done.:D

And a very honorable mention to a friend of mines' Cognoscenti. awesome!

P.S. and don't forget to say "It hits like KING KONG" that's always and attention getter!

My customized Mike Gulyassy Sledgehammer...I actually really like how solid and stiff it hits (I think its the taper)...
Talk about HITS LIKE A TRUCK! LOL :p :D

On a serious note though, I have an ebony pj Rick Howard, an ebony pj Omen, and an 5 pt ebony on maple BCM on order...lol...let'cha know which I think is best!

And as far as what I have ever played with thus far, I really like Chris Nitti. Ned Morris and Andy Gilbert are pretty good, too (although they all hit sorta differently, in my opinion).

And, man oh man...I can't wait to try a Searing...which I ought to be doing sometime this week! :D :D :D

IMO- You all should try a Hercek. The very BEST in craftmanship and playability. I think some of your opinions of the best would change!:)

I bet you are right for some ,but if we all didnt have differing opinions on "the best" this website wouldnt even be here for us.............
Unfortunatley, i have seen Herceks but have never played with one.....
But i have had some fine cues BB ,JW,SW, to name a few but i still have held on to my purpleheart Scruggs sneaky pete and a couple of M.Webbs cues ............. IMO :)

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL..............................:)

I had 2 Herceks neither one really blew me away but the craftsmanship was perfect. I do have one ordered maybe I'll like it better when I get my exact specs.

Your right.
After all thats why their are so many cue makers. There are definately alot of quality cue makers out there. Thats why everyone has different opinions. I have to keep reminding myself that! For me, nothing beats Joel's cues. I have tried alot of cues and I have alot of top makers in my collection. But, I always find myself going back to my Hercek Hoppe.
Happy New Year!:)

Happy new 2 all,

the very best hitting cue ..........himm
1 High end Gina
