Your greatest Shark Tactics

Here

Got a tournament later tonight....any last minute sharking tactics?

Here's one that works for me. If your opponent has a short turn at the table say " it's seems like you lost your mojo " I said to this to one of the area's better players and after that he couldn't make 3 balls in a row. When we were done he said " you know once you told me about losing my mojo that's all I could think about"
I tried it again with an average player and had the same results. In both cases there was no gambling involved .

Here's an interesting one to try.

I was playing a 116 handicap in NAPA and i was 109 at the time, so it was a 6-5 race. The first five racks we traded running the table. Nobody missed a shot besides a dry break for each of us. Rack 6 was a cluster duck and we ended up with a 20 minute safety game (8 ball league). Mind you, the guy i was playing was in his late 60s, early 70s and had a slight hand tremor but was still the best player in the pool hall. Anyway, after pocketing eachothers balls, freezing them with the 8 and just every safety in the book, my opponent had ball in hand from my safe where he could have pocketed his ball and made the 8 after, as my safety left him a tiny gap. Our balls were still within 2mm of eachother and as he shot, i realize and his team realized that he was shooting at my ball because he forgot. He sent my ball down table and froze me to his ball but it was clearly ball in hand. Such a crappy way to win a rack against such a good player that i respect that i begrudgingly took the ball in hand, won that rack and proceeded to not make a ball for the next three sets, as i felt like a real POS. Wish i could have stopped him from shooting my ball unintentionally but i couldn't tell exactly where he was aiming (that's how close our balls were).

I don't know how people shark and look at themselves in the mirror after. If i beat someone by absolute BS or cheating, i need a shower after.

I had this happen to me before where I just couldn't tell which ball he was hitting. I remember just thinking that it was probably better to let him hit the wrong ball than for me to interrupt him right as he is shooting only to miss his shot that he was shooting.

If he would have stood up from the shot, I would have said something, but he didn't.

If a guy starts sharking me I figure he sees me as a better player. Best way to shark someone is to play better than they do.

A guy the other night tried to pick my cue up by "accident" and puts it back but it dropped. Don't know if it was on purpose but it threw me off my game.

Is sharking specific to your opponent or can it be extended to other people?

The waitress is sharking me.

Last tournament I played in I think I got sharked, but not 100% sure. I was playing a known regional player and he's a good guy, I try not to be judgmental. I'm a fast player and it was a race to 7. The score was 6 to 1 and late at night, I was already tired and ready to go home, but I was on the hill. My opponent ended up running to the restroom to wash his hands every other and sometimes after every shot and took forever to shoot. A gentleman came over and started talking my ear off, it was all friendly. Mentally I was half way on my way home and ended up losing 7 to 6. Talk about laying down. lol

If he's on here, I'm sure he'll remember, but I'm not worried about it, it's water under the bridge. He didn't know me at the time and it was fun seeing his reaction. lol I'd love to match up with him, but I need to get back in the groove.

One thing I learned from this, is keep the blinders on until you put that final nail in their coffin and just finish it, don't give them opportunity to get up to move. If someone starts talking to you interrupting your game, ignore them like their already 6 feet under and they'll most likely go away. If not, tell the ***** to hold your beer. lol

Back in the day I use to shark guys when gambling, so I took it as karma. Sharking is a classless thing to do. I'd rather lose and be considered a gentleman, then have to shark to win.

A little different but I went out to smoke, hall wasn’t crowded and I could see the exits so I left my stuff alone...when I came back in a dude had my butt cap unscrewed and was messing around with the weight bolt...he said he thought it was a house stick. It was a bk3 breaker with the sport grip :lol::lol:

MY strongest, 'shark tactic' is, Never show any signs of weakness, always have that air of confidence and never give up!

This will set a player on tilt faster than anything!

if you have played around in many poolrooms and bars for bigger money not hamburgers then you will see some form of sharking all the time. good players dont let it bother them and could care less.

if it bothers you then you are a losing gambler for sure or just a hot head who never has any money anyway.

in almost all sports there is some kind of sharking going on. if you show weakness from sharking that means you are weak and easy prey and will be sharked to death and rightly so. thats gambling.

none of this pertains to those playing in pool leagues for fun.
