Please DON’T post your answer here but please email it to me at joetuckeraiming@yahoo.com as I really want to know how YOU would play this shot and don’t want you to be influenced by how someone else would play it, especially if it were some of our better players posting their response right away. I’m not looking for right or wrong answers; it’s more like I just want to see how you’re thinking and why you’re thinking that way. All answers appreciated.

Please let me know how you would play this shot if you had ball in hand going from the 8 to the 9 and also let me know your current level of play.

The table has average pocket openings and the rest of the conditions are about normal, not too fast or slow.

You can also let me know if it’s okay to post your response or not at a later time, I will respect your wishes.

CueTable Help

Because I'm asking people not to post their answers here I'll probably bump it up once or twice cuz I'm looking to see how different level of players are thinking so I'll need a fair amount of replies and then what I might do is lump them up and just say how many players went this way and many went that way, etc.

Thanks
Joe T

Where is the shot?

I see people link to Cue Table help often but where is the actual layout at?

Thanks to those who have replied so far (about 20), especially Randy G who crossing the 8! Could use about 30 more to get a good feel for percentages.
I should have stated earlier that it's okay if you don't want to diagram it out, you can just type it out and I should be able to follow your thoughts.
Also you can pm it to if you like.

HU, I don't understand what's going on, are you unable to see the table layout?

Thanks

Joe... what does that mean... I'm confused. Would Randy G cross-bank the 8 to get down to the 9?

He's just bustin my *****

Bval you did a no no. Not suppose to post your answer, we don't want to lead the other players.

Could use some professional opinions on this just for the record so I can compare their shots to the average players fairly.

security issue

Joe,

It was a security issue. With security really screwed down tight on a computer I see the link to cue table help but no indication of the table above it. A little bit of tweaking to security and I see everything just fine.

I sent you an e-mail stating how this lazy man would shoot that shot. I may not have been plain as to exactly the shot I would take because there is almost no end of options but I think the type of shot I would take is clear.

I don't want to reveal my secret technique for getting on the 9 ball, which I can do every 5th attempt or so, because it might cause others to improve and beat me.

Not really, this is a bump.

forgive my not understanding the diagram, but I don't see a cue ball. Is it supposed to be in the jaws, or along the line opposite the pocket. There is no cue ball on the graphic I see on my screen.

He said in the second paragraph that you have ball in hand.

I just pmed you what I'd do.

Ball in hand.

Sorry I missed that. Hmm, this isn't exactly a tester with BIH. I"ll PM also.

Actually, I've found it harder than I thought, so far. Only tried a few times, but haven't really been as successful as I expected to be.
I also misread, shot the first time from where I thought the cue ball was, and got there the first time.

It's been a long, tough day. I just tried it again, and realized that I'd been making it harder than I needed to. Did it the way I wanted on the second try.
Will send email, shortly.

This would be another good shot to test at the next real-life AZB event. Each participant could get five tries at the three ways they like best. A prize to the best scores out of 15.

I'm interested in hearing Joe's preference in shooting this shot ... Joe? Was it your intention to post your choice? (bump)
