YouTube video: Mike Sigel vs Josh Brothers (10 ball)

good match

first time I've ever saw Brothers play and I was impressed. Mike sigel played pretty good too.

Both played great. I am glad to see Josh playing well again. I hope the Earl/Sigel match happens.

Josh plays bad ass. He 's been playing top level pool for a bunch of years. Josh has been terrorizing the MD/VA/DE/PA/NJ/NY area for a long time (except for a short stint in MI). It's not surprising (to me) that he beat Sigel.

On a side, note, Josh is prolly one of the most down to earth, easy going guys around. No hustle or b.s., just a straight up guy, period.

Notice anything particular about Josh's stroke? He likes to throw his grip hand 'outside' on the follow-through on some shots.

Great match, really impressive 10-Ball, but I had to turn the sound down. Good pool commentary must be really hard to find.

Huge miscue that decided the match. The momentum was all in that game.

Sigel had some killer shot making in that match. If anything was his nemesis it was a weak safety game compared to what he used to do to people. Captain Hook needs to practice those safeties and get that part of his game back because IMO he is still making shots at almost his former level.

He has the best stroke I have seen in pool!!!!

Its his coming out party now and there is a new sheriff in town!!!!

That long shot on the 1 in the last rack was beautiful.
That was a great match. Both guys played some sweet pool.

This just shows what we have to deal with around here if we want to win a match. Never a cakewalk...

Josh took a couple of years off where he worked at a tough job but this year he his back practicing and winning almost every week. I think this is the 9th or 10th tournament he has won this year.
There might not be a nicer guy around pool that Josh so I am always happy to see him do well. He has a ton of talent and he isn't afraid to win against anybody.

Interesting match; thanks for the link. The keys were Mike's miscue, Mike's poor safeties, Josh's good play, and Josh's success on that last 1-ball (I'd say quite a low-probability shot). Sigel sure is an elbow dropper -- even on quite softly hit shots.

I noticed one annoying flaw in Sigels fundamentals: he raises his head on all of his shots. And still he is able to pot almost everything. Imagine how his game may have become strong (I mean former-Sigel-strong:wink:) if he gets rid of this flaw....
