Yu Ram Cha 10-8 over Van Boening!

I've heard that cha has a very powerful break some people said she breaks harder than alot of the men....any truth to this?

Wow, not only an amazingly beautiful woman, but also an amazing pool player. What a great win in her young pool career!!

I met her here in Virginia when she was traveling with Charlie Williams thru his old home town of Newport News last year right before the US Open, and she is just the sweetest person. She has a very bright future!!

Way to go Yu Ram!!

Stan Shuffett- The Common Denominator

I was very impressed with her focus and discipline, not so much with some of the shots she chose. Doubt that she beat Shane playing the way she was the other night but the shot is always easier to see sitting in your easy chair rather than in the glare of the spotlight and in the middle of competition. With the match wins she is posting lately there is no doubt at all she is much more than a pretty face!

She, Cris, Jasmin, a handful more, it looks like the young guns of lady's pool are coming on strong. It doesn't seem like the changing of the guard will be that far off. My prediction though, none of the ladies will dominate like Allison Fisher has. The field gets deeper and wider by the day. Hopefully the sport will grow enough to keep the strong young players in the sport, male and female.

A great win for Cha!

While every loss is tough, the win for Yu Ram Cha may be a big winner for pool in general.

As more people see that women can compete with men at the professional level, more women (the money spenders) :D will tune in to watch professional pool which in turn means GREAT THINGS for all pool players and fans.

The interest and support that the 105 lb FIRECRACKER garners here on AZB is evidence that men and women are interested in seeing women compete against men and once again proves that pool holds no prejudices and embraces one and all.

In this tournament Yu Ram took down two TITANS back to back, Jeanette Lee and Shane Van Boening.

Yu Ram has taken lessons from Stan Shuffett. The following is a quote from Yu Ram: "If anyone could make me a world champion it is him".

Yu Ram credits Stan with accelerating her learning curve.

Stevie Moore is also a student of Stan's Pool Academy and he is in the final 32 as well.

If you were inclined to contact Stan Shuffett for lessons you can go to his website at www.justcueit.com

If it took 11 to win, I think the line was that she didn't get 7.

Having been on the losing end of similar matches, I can say...She just outplayed (me)! Nothing I could do about it.

Hi Joey,

I really appreciate the heads-up yesterday regarding Yu Ram's match on live stream. I was unable to view the match as I was working with a student but Landon did get to see it.

The James Roberts that I worked with lives in Marrietta, GA. The player, James Roberts that you mentioned in your post has contacted me and at some point we may get together. He is a strong player and he's certainly proving it.

As always I highly value your support!

Yu Ram credits Stan with accelerating her learning curve as does James Roberts who played so well in this tournament. (Hopefully this is the same James Roberts who used to live in GA.)

Congrats to Yu Ram. That's def her biggest win of her career, in my opinion.

Stan, that has to make you feel proud!

Spidey,

Actually, I just feel very honored to have had the opportunity to work with Yu Ram.

It's been said before. Yu Ram is just as beautiful on the inside as she is on the outside.

She's a world class lady!!! And, IMO, Yu Ram possesses what may be the straightest stroke the pool world will ever see.

Wow, did she get any games on the wire, or was this straight-up? Impressive win either way.

I sat fifteen feet away throughout the match. She was down 8-4 and won the next six games in a row. She WON them, he didn't give them to her. Yu Ram has a powerful and effective break. She goes thru the cue ball well and makes a nice hit every time. She proves pool is not all about power. It is about co-ordination and timing. Yu Ram is a good athlete, maybe a gymnast or diver when she was younger. She just has that natural gait and look to her.

This is a great thing for pool. The wave of the future is men and women competing on the same playing field. Only in pool is that possible NOW! Three women made the final 32; Yu Ram, Allison and Jasmin, the three best IMO. Yu Ram showed a lot of heart in this match. The last two racks were not easy ones, and the pressure was enormous. She refused to give the table back to Shane. And DIDN"T MISS!

Me thinks that SVB is concentrating too much on Cha than the table.

Nah, it was the other way around. Cha had her sights on Shane, and wanted to play him as she progressed in the tournament. This info I got from the www.poolmag.com website:

Yu Ram Cha defeated France's Reda Belhaj 10-2 and then edged out famed Black Widow Jeanette Lee 10-8 to advance with only 48 players left. Allison Fisher defeated Spanish Woman's champ Amalia Matas 10-2 and will face Dan Heidrich to qualify. Cha looked slightly nervous against Jeanette Lee, but was able to come away with the win. The last time the two faced off Lee won 9-8. "I felt pressure playing her, because I really want to play Shane again," explained Cha. The Van Boening/Cha re-match will be at 8:30 p.m. MST tonight.

A re-match will be on?

Where?

I didn't get to see any of it so I'm quite eager to do so...

i think she's one of the if not the best player I've ever seen

I was shocked when I saw shane is out this morning, especially after watched the match between Jeanette & CHa. Cha didn't shoot too well when played Jeanette, but she pulled it through and that's all matters:thumbup:
