Cue Ball Kelly: Witness to the 20th Century's Greatest Players - Pool History
The colorful Carl "Cue Ball Kelly" Zingale stood witness to much of 20th Century pool history, including matches featuring some of its greatest players like Greenleaf, Mosconi, Lassiter and others.poolhistory.com
There’s no 1P in the city, what’s wrong with youIt’s only a short hop to New York City from there though
Alex, Earl, Keith, Ronnie Allen, Mike Sigel...there were more than a few.Much truth in this. I have often commented on this very forum that the switch to four-inch pockets, an overcompensation for the amazing cueing skills of this generation of players has, at least to a point, robbed 9ball of its fast and loose nature.
Nonetheless, the in-match interaction to which you refer was the exception and not the rule fifty years ago, just as it is today.
I'd call Alex Pagulayan, whose career is still in progress. the most entertaining player that I have ever watched. Good luck finding a comparable entertainer from the golden age of pool.

I prefer the more "raw" play where players with "personality" play "fast and loose" and there is "interaction" between the players besides the handshake at the beginning and end of the match.
I am sure it is the Merry Widow.2 cues pictured here which one is for sale
JOB’s outside of Nashville had a pit table located just to the left as you go in, don’t know if it’s still there.Don't know any rooms with a 'pit' table. A lot of them have a table that's used for action but not in any pit. Not real sure exactly what you mean here. Why is another question.
