We were there for a wedding in the spring of 1985 and my cousin and I drove past Cabrini Green on a nice sunny morning. He insisted on rolling up the windows and locking the doors. This was in a car with no power anything and no AC of course. We were only going past not going there to do anything, but I couldn’t argue with his precautions. Later I drove him through what was considered a bad neighborhood in Denver and he started doing that. I told him it wasn’t necessary. He said it was prime real estate then.
