I thought this at first. But I am starting to think that a break shot has way more force involved. Break shot around 16mph? If it was possible to put that much force into a jump shot I would think we could clear a full 9 foot table. I think the "beating of jump shots" is actually an illusion from lifting a ball off slate.

Couple of things... This is why you pay people to ID cues AND write LOA's. This is a full splice Spain Brazilian rosewood cue. There is no joint under the wrap, it is a true Spain splice. The colors are the only ones we have seen with black, orange, purple and natural. It was purchased at the SBE THIS YEAR, from another "knowledgeable" dealer as a Petersen, but he said he really did not know. It came to him as an unknown from another long-time dealer. Between those two, there might be 50 years of "experience" as cue brokers. Another great restoration by the Tascarella shop. (Check out the birdseye shaft) Yes it now has a letter or two... and it has been x-rayed like a broken arm.

I know absolutely nothing about the intricacies of cue identification. If it doesn't have a maker's signature on it, I got nuthin'.

As a result, I enjoy the "ID me" threads because I learn things from those of you who knowthings...

In that light, can someone explain what x-raying the cue will tell you and how that would help identify who made the cue/blank?

Well, that made me laugh, two reasons. First, pool aficionados are mostly grizzly guys who really enjoy beating each other. Of course there will be friendly banter. You couldn't expect less. You should listen to me and my brother play pool. We sound like the Marx Brothers, except no one is writing the best stuff down. Second, I've often thought the exact thing about AZB.

Two On The Same Day Dilemma

Anybody ever get two new custom (or semi custom) cues on the same day? Maybe I will luck out and one of them will get delayed until Monday.

Which one will I play with first???

Delivery company delivery notifications are bogus. Packages are nearly always delivered early, except occasionally they are very late or lost.
