Sadly, I've never even been. One of these days...
Not sure why your people spent 2 winters there, sir!Very true in the Middle of Montana last week we had a blizzard two days later 60 above and 30 - 40 mph winds with gusts up to 60+ mph !
Yes Mother Nature is off her meds again !
Add that to the fact that near all calls for action to elevate pro pool beg for a benefactor and you got a tough row to hoe.I’m sure Rogans been around enough pool halls and tournaments to know just how cheap and unreciprocating pool players are. He’s not interested in giving away money to pool players just for the sake of it. I’m sure if he had an opportunity presented to him to help move the needle for pool in a meaningful way he would do it.
I like women's tennis as much as men's tennis, though not as much these days since there are no Serenas or Steffi's dominating the circuit. The men are really a two-man show now with Alcaraz and Sinner. The only sports I can imagine women get more views is beach volleyball and gymnastics/pole vaulting etc. I cant think of a reason why though![]()
Same here/ mid Atlantic
I am well aware of her branding and nickname, sjm. Yet the older announcer doesn't just keep calling her the Billiard Bombshell for branding purposes. He just has that classic old-guy sound to him when he's talking about a pretty woman. Like he's been in love with her forever or something. If you heard this announcer as much as I have, you'd think something was weird about it, too!Actually, for years now, the "Billiard Bombshell" has been Emily Duddy's nickname. Hence, this is not a case of announcers having different styles. It is part of Emily's branding and I'm quite certain that she is happy to be referred to as such.
A ceiling mounted camera with a wide field of view running off of a single board computer like a Pi could probably detect total ball motion for long shots but might fail with tiny movements found in safeties and especially classical carom games like balkline and one cushion. The downside is you need to run power to the ceiling mounted location, and have a mounting point in the first place. I think clipping to a light with a battery won’t work well, beyond typical field of view. Not great options for the average player going to the pool hall for a few hours.I would rather see a product that uses a cheap commodity video device like a go-pro to monitor when balls stop moving. Use it with software that runs on a laptop or rasperry pi. Not sure if that would work with spinning balls though.
