Oh brother, you think TYLER is the reason they won in 2018 and 2019? You cannot attribute a team win to one player alone.

The only difference between the 2018 and 2019 Team USA roster was that they swapped Corey Deuel for Justin Bergman. The other 4 players remained the same (SVB, Sky, Billy, Tyler)

They won because Johann was their captain and they were breaking with the 1 on the spot. Europe had players like Kaci and Kazakis both of those years, who didn't play that well under the bright lights and folded under pressure. SVB said in an interview that USA is losing because they changed to 9 on the spot and now they no longer have the advantage of the break, which takes away their focus on actually playing because now they have to spend more time trying to get the break down. I don't know if I buy that but he's a champion so I'll go with it.

Why does Styer "deserve" it more than others? If anything, other players deserve a shot at the team, due to Styer having so many chances without producing any evidence that he should be on the team.

I get that he's one of your favorite players, but that's not enough.
He ain't even on my top 20 favorite players, but I don't see any other guys deserve more better than STYLER  Who you think should be on team, because of what, play better than Styler, let me hear who? Did the guy you saying is trying as hard as Styler? probably not, maybe wining 1-2 (gamble) matches  and now he should be on the team 😁. They have points system so we don't have to guess LOL let's wait and see, also hopefully the captain pick BS will be more fair: so top 2 ranking is auto, Matchroom will pick 1 captain, Matchroom will pick 1 wild card, Captain will pick 1 of his buddy 🤨

Fedor (MR picked - captain)
SVB (top ranking)
Styler (top ranking)
Sky (Captain picked)
Jesus (MR picked - wild card)

How would you fix this?

Do you think you would be where you are right now in your journey without, at any point, being able to come here or the dozens of groups on FB and ask for help?

Please don't assume that my path was the normal path to cuemaking. I grew up in a cabinet shop and started making cues when I was a student in mechanical engineering, building my own jigs and tooling on a student's budget. This was long before FB existed and when the interwebs were in their infancy. I had no direct cuemaking instruction from mentors, books, or videos. Every part of my process was working well before I started reading this forum and I quit FB well before that was widely used for this type of thing.

I will allow for advances in adhesives being a major factor in mitering.

SVB vs Josh Filler announced for Feb 6th at NYC's Amsterdam Billiards

YOU'S A SCARED OF EM

All jokes aside, I think everyone is scared of Filler, rightfully so. He's an alien and at times seems unbeatable.

The Ko Brothers' Youtube channel has a few interviews with Taiwanese pros and basically every one of them named Filler when asked "who are you most afraid of playing?".

Tony/Skyler trivia question

****
Pure trivia question from the FargoRate database

There are 10 recorded matches between Tony Chohan and Skyler Woodward (7 one-pocket, 3 rotation).

Question: How many of these did Tony win?

Bonus: If Tony had any wins, how many were one-pocket vs rotation?

Curious to see the guesses.
Really tricky because of 1-pocket, if rotation only, Sky should won 80% of time.
My guess is that 50-50: Tony won 5 one pocket, Sky won 2 one pocket and 3 rotation 🤣
