A mile farther away with even more buildings between... sure, that makes as much sense as anything you've said.

Cabrini subsidized housing still exists there - the highrises were removed 15-30 years ago. Even then I doubt you could make out the detail you describe from the expressway - the pic I posted shows that.

I'm not trying to do that to anybody - but I can't help what you do to yourself.

Oops - I just noticed that you said you were talking about seeing Cabrini "back in the 90s" - yes, you could see the highrises then. Apologies for missing that.

I still wonder if you could really see the detail you describe or if you're just projecting from the historical myths (like everybody else). One detail I question is your description of "missing windows" - I doubt there would be any in Chicago Housing Authority highrises.

How Many of You...

I had a new piece of Great White with a magnet on it, a team mate wanted to borrow it so I left it with him and said I would get it next week. The next week I ask for it back and he informs it went down the pocket on the table, I said no problem, just get me another piece. He says he figures he don't owe me a piece of chalk because it was the guy he was playing that knocked it down the pocket and I should collect from him. You cant argue with that kind of stupidity.:mad:
I would kick his cue over every time I walked past it...

Now show me moving views from a mile before in each direction.

Here, this is just for you, since Cabrini Green no longer exists this is what AI says, do try to get over it now please. I guess my Xray goggles worked pretty good. Are you trying to make a fool of yourself? You are doing a pretty good job of it.

"Yes, the tall Cabrini-Green apartments were visible from I-94, as they were located on the Near North Side of Chicago and were among the prominent high-rise buildings in the area."

I lost a chalk of my opponent once (in a pocket of a Diamond table) and we were able to retrieve it with the light of a smartphone and a cue. It's not as lost as one might think. With the light of the smartphone you can see where the chalk lands (looking in the opening of the ball return.) and then its oftentimes possible to get hold of it with a long stick (like the one we use all the time for playing pool).

Gold Crown 7 Revealed

Let me ask you a question. I also have a GC at home and play on Diamonds away from home. Do the Diamonds feel bigger than the GC when you play on them? For some reason a 9' Diamond always feels bigger than my 9' GC, maybe its the big flat rails Diamond uses, I like the GC tear drop rails much better.

I don't notice that frankly.
Call me crazy. They both play well and true.
To me they even bank the same to me. Both top notch tables.
It's the player not the table.
If anything, I think the GC feels like a heavier, more solid table.
Actually love the thwack sound when hitting a solid shot into a pocket of a GC. Rarely hear that on a Diamond.

Cabrini is behind the big white apartment building (and all the other buildings in between) - I hope you didn't burn any holes in them with your magnifying x-ray vision.

McDermott cues in The Color Of Money

That looks great. Since posting in this thread I picked up a D-1. It doesn’t look as nice as your refinished one, but looks good and is in excellent condition. Nylon wrap is in great shape. It hits great. All I’m doing to it now is a new tip. I don’t know I’d ever have it refinished, but if I do it would probably go back to McDermott like yours did. If I get a second shaft it will be a plain old maple one.

Nice! McDermott does an excellent job and go above and beyond. They refinished and turned down the original shaft (used to be 13.5mm) to my g-core specs at no extra charge. I also requested to leave off the G-core logo on the shaft and they initially said no, but to my surprise ended up doing it for me anyway. Great experience.
