Johann Chua stops SVB ‘comeback’ run to claim 3rd Annual Battle of the Bull 9-Ball title

Last night (Sat. Aug. 16), the Philippines’ Johann Chua became the 11th different competitor to be among the 9-Ball, Battle of the Bull’s ‘final four’ in the past three years. The only competitor to appear more than once among the final four has been Shane Van Boening (SVB), who made his second appearance on that list of 12 when he competed against Chua in last night’s final. 44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

I am just curious, what percentage of cosmo is acceptable?

I have broken at least 40 racks in the last week, those and my opponents so let’s call it 60 racks. There may have been 2 or 3 that would provide for a straight forward run out.

I am not rated yet (thanks to iusedtoberich for the fargo lesson) but my preliminary fargo is currently 440 with 132 robustness, and I am happy when I pot a ball on the break. I have my own table and play every day. So must be a matter of expectations, I don’t have any. I am no where near good enough to blame my equipment.

I wish you luck and I hope you conquer your white whale.

44 Breaks & Only 3 Chances

I had new SuperSpeed cushions installed a few years ago.

It has Simonis 860.

The are Belgium Aramith balls. The Crown set.

Rails are tight. They don't die off the cushions.

It has Brazilian slate. Which has always been a concern of mine as I was hoping for Italian.

Might try a serious soap and warm water washing of the balls followed by a thorough rinse. All by hand. In a serious effort to find a mechanical issue the balls and rack are suspect. Might try rotating balls swapping the extra six balls for first the one through six then the four through nine.
With everything right even a medium speed break and a square hit on the head ball should be plenty to spread the balls. It shouldn't take much to spread a nine ball rack.
