US Open and Mosconi coming to ESPN

i get that sky sports or ESPN can still generate some income, but that demographic is getting old. in medium to long term they're probably better of focusing on streaming and social media
ESPN still has 60 million subscribers in the US. Its ESPN Plus service has 25 million reportedly. And tens of millions more access ESPN in some manner or another each year.

If there is one broadcast station young people, especially men, still watch at times, it's ESPN.

Matchroom should focus on streaming and social media, of course, but ESPN+ is a major form of streaming. Better to have ESPN in your stable than not, in my view.

Excellent Female player from South Korea, Seo Seoa

She has learned a lot from Ga Young Kim. Her Dad owns a carom club in S. Korea.

Seo is all class and represents her country wonderfully.

The incident with Earl was pretty damn sad to watch. She was all excited to win that match and he acted like an asshole..
That's no act...he is an a$$hole

How far would you travel for league?

15-20 minutes for APA on old Valleys
30-35 minutes for in house, no handicap.
45-50 minutes for usapl on Diamond tables.

The price of gas is definitely a factor. I'm retired.
I like this. It's like Portnoy's pizza scale. A local place with a score in the 7's means you never have to leave your neighborhood for good pizza. A score in the 8's means it's worth an hour drive. A score in the 9's, you plan your vacation around it.

New Here? - Introduce Yourself

Just got back into the game after just about 22 years of not playing. I regret selling off my cue collection over the years, because a) they would be worth a lot more than what I sold them for when I did, and b) I'm a friggin' idiot for selling them in the first place. I did, however, have one stolen back in 2003.
So, now I'm old, my back hurts after playing all day and I have to wear glasses. I'm so far out of stroke it's comical. I have only been playing again for a month, and the expectations of myself are way out of whack. This fall I will likely get into some league/tourney play.
That's it. That's the post. :)
Welcome back

How far would you travel for league?

Don't know where to drop this, but in our league, we go for 6 months (20 regular nights) and pay 15/week whether we play or not. we have 50 or so players...the league operator keeps 10% for his trouble. after 20 weeks we have a playoff an the winning team gets about $13,000 to go to the BCA national championships in Vegas in Feb. Anyway, our team will be goin to Vegas next year!!
