Here is perspective I think some people are missing about Mosconi being on ESPN plus. I am a fan of WWE and they are also on ESPN plus. During the week of a PLE (Premium Live Event), various WWE talent do interviews during a number of the ESPN shows. Usually the first hour of the PLE is live on either ESPN or ESPN 2 and then the rest of the show is on ESPN plus. As people has stated, ESPN plus is their streaming platform and here is why it makes sense to be on streaming. No time constraints. Your show can be 2 hours and 15 minutes, or 2 hours and 45 minutes. With traditional ESPN, you have to stick to a predetermined timeframe, unless your MLB or the NFL. The last time pool was on ESPN, it was all recorded to fit into a timeslot. Back in the day, WWE was on pay per view and had a "hard out time" where as now, they don't. They can go whatever time they want. That is why it makes sense for Mosconi to be on the streaming platform. Can you image the week of Mosconi Cup players like Jayson Shaw, Joshua Filler, SVB, and Fedor being on ESPN First Take with Stephen A Smith? I think the ESPN deal could be more then just showing the even on their streaming channel, it could be promotion too. If that is the case, then it is more mainstream promotion pro pool has ever got in the US. And for those that will "just wait to watch in free on YouTube", you may not be able to watch the full event on YouTube afterwards. You maybe be able to see highlights, but not the full event per the new agreement.
