I know this been ask before about one piece cue? But who got a one piece cue hidden away in a Bar or Pool Room?

When I was a kid my father used to always experimented with house cues trying to find the magic formula. He had one particularly heavy house cue that he drilled holes evenly up & down the handle all the way around - at least 40 holes. He then put screws at different points to change the balance and weight. When he found what he liked he removed the screws and filled those holes with lesser amounts of lead. It was the ugliest thing you’d ever lay eyes on - pockmarked with holes all over that cue, scared with burn spots from from the lead - looked like a bad piece of Swiss cheese, but he loved that cue and would take it with him to the bars. My mom used to tell him “you have all those nice cues and you play with that ugly thing… they’re going to think you’re crazy” and my dad would tell her “that’s okay me… let them think I’m crazy” lol We moved around a lot and never knew what ever happened to it. He still talks about that cue and how much he liked it.

SVB v. Yapp: Why was this jump shot legal?

The announcers commented that SVB was one of the best jumpers with a full length cue while he lined up this shot:

View attachment 844376

Apparently, SVB needed to jump over the edge of the 9-ball in order to hit the green ball. The WPA jump shot rule says:

Did SVB's shot qualify as a legal jump shot? Clearly he was aiming at the bottom of the cue ball, and as a consequence his cue stick was "elevated". Was he also "driving the cue ball down into the playing surface" or was he scooping under the ball?
He shot the jump shot exactly as the definition describes. He did not scoop under the ball. All three people at the table were satisfied that the shot was legal.

The shot is at 6:55:44 in the recording on WNT if anyone wants to see the shot.

What 9b? I started playing rotation on 5 x 10 in the '50, pea pool, before it was call ring game.... From Southern Illinois ( Johnston City area) before you change diaper. Play 8ball, more for your quarter in the '60. Now I just too old to worry about pool youth today, other than promotion pool/billiard. My money come elsewhere!!
Are you Dr Cue's Protege's long lost brother?

best cue tip tool

So which is it? Can the Last4Ever tip tool not be used to fix mushrooming, or can it, just not well at all? As the owner of one that’s satisfactorily fixed close to a half-dozen mushroomed tips, I’d like to know.
The Last4Ever tip tool has a thin strip of sandpaper on the side. The sand paper is about 3/8" wide and the tool is little under 7" long. So, you can use the side of the tool like a file to file off the mushroom, but you have to make sure you don't file the ferrule. Dr. Dave has a much easier system: you lay some sandpaper on a flat surface, you cover all but a thin strip with copy paper (a little thicker than normal paper), and you use a block of wood to keep the tip from sliding forward, which would allow the ferrule to come in contact with the sandpaper, then you rotate the shaft while sanding the side of the tip. Dr. Dave recommends taping the ferrule before sanding the side of the tip, but I find that doesn't work: the tape rubs off the ferrule while I am sanding the side of the tip, so I leave the ferrule untaped.
