hydex

Metal split die in a tailstock holder.
Pretty straight forward and simple.
Do the i.d. work after it's installed
i can make the inserts and i do have the die holder on my lathee. I was just asking if there was a faster way to cut a longer length of rod to a smaller size, since this material is flexing when i try to do any length longer than 2.5 inches at a time
Your picture says Juma on the bottom, is that the material you used ,or are those hydex or maple

Johan back at 2026 Mosconi Cup Healm

If SVB and Sky don't want to come to Johan's Mosconi Cup camp, then they need to be kicked off the team.

Team USA need 5 players who are fully committed.

Gorst
Styer
Bergman
Atencio
Thorpe

That's my 5 for the Mosconi.
Is Atencio officially representing the US in MR events? I would think Francesso-Varner HAS to be in consideration, imo...he's young, and has already won a ranking event I believe. I don't know if I would bet against him vs. either Thorpe or Styer...
A couple guys were in the pool hall the other night, wearing "shorts". The counter was all wondering if they went for the other team. Then we heard them speak. Ah, ok, they are European!
Reminds me of something my grandpa said to me many years ago. July in Alabama is HOT and HUMID, yet he always wore the same style work coveralls every day. I asked him once why he never wore short pants in the alabama heat.

His reply was deadpan and instant. "Because I'm a grown man." :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

Unfortunately, I won't ever be than grown, or that much of a man!

Bergman has made no attempt to go to the tournaments to collect Mosconi Cup points so I am not sure how fully committed he is to the Mosconi Cup.

Before I pull the trigger... am I making a mistake?

I didn't take it as you were trying to dissuade me at all. I welcome all constructive and well thought out opinions.

At 12,000 sq ft. I have plenty of space to add the black ball tables without impacting my ability to have 20+ normal tables. I'm going to work with an architect out of Kansas that has experience designing multiple large pool rooms to lay out the hall to maximize my monetization of the space while accounting for appropriate team based seating around the tables for league play.

The Junior league will be an in house BCA league.

The APA operator gave me the contact information for the local BCA and TAP operators in the area and USAPool is starting up in this area as well. Everyone I've run into in the APA leagues in my area are all mid to late 30s-60s in age. Also all the type of customers I'd expect to see in the hall.

I anticipate leveraging the Billiard Education Foundation to work with the schools to develop billiards clubs in the schools. Also one of my partners is retired High School teacher and will assist with communications to the schools / boards to facilitate conversations.
I always thought that a high school pool league would be a novel idea....like any other sport like football or basketball. Maybe 8 or 10 local schools in a league, playing each other in a round-robin schedule.

Another stupid thread from me: golf is harder than pool

When I was young, I watched Ray Martin and Dan Deliberto playing 14.1 in the Golden 8 Ball on several occasions they played 50 or better to score and either of them could and did string 50 to 100 balls fairly often, most would agree both were very good players. I'm sure they were good, but I wonder how their 9-ball game was compared to Buddy Hall, Archer and others. I mentioned Warren earlier he wins the US Open in 9 Ball and I'm pretty sure his strongest game was 1 Pocket. Billy Weir played as good as any but gambled on another level, you would think he was a bookie or something. Rod Curry played strong but could be out gambled. I don't think I was ever as good a pool player as Rod, but I have left with decent sums of his money before.

Are Junior players being set up for a tough life?

I saw a thread on Facebook where Colston Harrelson (great young player) has been matching up with people for $10k sets. Someone commented something about being careful going down this road and make sure he has a backup plan if the pool thing doesn't work out. He took a lot of heat for that, but it got me thinking. I see tons of junior players out there asking for sponsorships and traveling from city to city playing big tournaments. Very few of these young players are going to carve out a living playing pool. Not sure what kind of conversation I'm even looking for here, but does anyone else see what I see? There are teenagers out there posting of big tournaments and matchups that can't string a legible sentence together.
What is really sad is the young players that aren’t even that good and not naturally gifted that say they want to become a pro player. They have absolutely no chance.
