Does playing Pool with Families or Friends mess up your real game??

Well wait a minute now.
I was on an out of town grocery store remodel with uh let's see maybe 8 of us on the crew with carpenters and laborers and a Superintendent. So the first night after work. I played the Superintendent for the first round. I had bragged uh significantly with my co workers and told them that, ^I could Play."
So I broke and ran to the 8 and hooked myself accidentally. The crew was laughing and encouraging our Superintendent with, "Well at least you will get to shoot." No He didn't, I called it and kicked it. Just had to prove that I wasn't full of Sh**. 🤷‍♂️
you had something to prove after bragging
you were not with family to have fun

Mcdermott carom shaft (traditional maple)

Hello.
Thinking of buying the Mcdermott traditional maple Carom shaft. First of all, does anyone ever played with one? If so, what do you think about it?

My second question is.
I have to know the collar size, my pool cue is 0.841 (21.4mm) and I would really like if it would be flush with the butt section.
I have send an email to McDermott, but they are closed right now, and I don't want to wait that long to find out.

If anyone knows? Please let me know
(And as usual, I apologise if my English is not the best)
Regards Ronnie

Billiards Glasses

I visited the doctor yesterday. I am getting glasses for sure, might try them a little while before ordering billiard glasses.

He is also ordering some contacts for me to try, but I can't remember what type.

He did his best, but as someone already said, I could tell he was guessing when I asked him to help me specifically with billiards.

Thanks again to everyone!

Just simply tell him that you need the contacts for distance and he'll know what to do. You'll need reading glasses for your phone while wearing your contacts.
Distance contacts worked perfectly for me until I had Cataract surgery and got distance lenses in my eyes.

Can a 3 piece slate ProAm be moved on the cart?

If someone orders a 9’ Diamond ProAm, but gets it with 3 pieces of slate instead of one…. Can it still be tipped on its side fully assembled and moved like the 1 piece slate models on the Diamond cart?

Let’s assume the slate seams are bonded together with paper drywall joint tape and CA glue, as is typically done with 3 piece slate Diamonds.
Yes, absolutely can be flipped into a Diamond cart and moved like it's a 1 piece slate. As long as the slate seams are superglued correctly, and all the rail bolts are tight, nothing will happen to the seams. I wouldn't give 2 seconds of thoughts to any of these naysayers, I have way to many years of working on pool tables, ESPECIALLY Diamonds, NOT to know what I'm talking about, so yes, move the table with a Diamond cart.

To everyone else, if you don't know what the hell you're talking about, shut the hell up, DIAMONDS are not like all the other tables out there! I still have the FIRST original Diamond 9ft Smart Table i invented vack in 2000 with a 3 piece slate, superglued together, and I moved it cross country on an open flatbed trailer, moved it in and out of casinos and bars, flipping in into a Diamond cart at least 50 times, and never had the slates come apart!!!!!

Billiard University (BU) playing-ability-exam scores and ratings

Just noticed that my table got a little easier in the meantime. I was a little too tough to run big numbers in straight pool so I built it back to 4 1/2'' pockets.

Thanks for the info in the TDF thread. I've updated your info above.

(And succeeded last month running my first hundred.)

Congrats! I haven't done that yet, but I never try. One of these days (before I get too old), I need to put in a good effort to reach that goal.

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

Here's the latest:

Calculate your Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) to determine how tough it plays relative to other tables. Only three pocket measurements are required, and you can use the TDF spreadsheet to get your results.
