I finally played Ultimate Pool

I hear you. I wouldn't have balked at -4 if I'd had a bit more time. The way we were playing, the most we could get in were 4 games in 20 minutes. I had a shot in the first match. Had 3 balls and the 8 left with 30 seconds to go, and the timer went off as I went to aim on the 8. Would have been a shootout which I was hoping for.
I'd honestly report this to the organization. This isn't how the game is meant to be played and I'm sure they wouldn't want bad experiences like this to taint their name/brand. 20 minutes isn't long enough to outrun a handicap meant for 30 minute matches, and they are delivering a shitty version that definitely makes the brand look very bad.

I'd guess if you were actually playing 20 minutes you would have had to spot 2 because you can't outrun 4 in 20 minutes. Bad TD who really needs reported for violating the rules. Not as a punitive thing but it severely broke the rule set. The rules are pretty much all important and if you start changing one thing it no longer works.

Early Impressions Of The Diamond Professional

I think I will go and measure my pockets on the Diamond and the Gold Crown IV again.

When you use the "Ball Measuring Method" it appears the Diamond is about 1/8" inch larger than the GCIV. That's where you put two balls between the facings.

I'm not really sure how to interpret all of this pocket measuring stuff. It is what it is, I guess.
here is a schema in the video on how to measure the pocket size
if you really want to compare the 2 tables do all the measurements on both tables and calculate theor respective difficulty factor

‘Guama’ goes undefeated to claim stop on Sullivan Open Tour at Shooter’s in Wayne, NJ.

It was kind of a storybook ending. Not only, in the end, did Gregorio ‘Guama’ Sanchez slay all of his ‘dragons,’ but, in the end and in a manner of speaking, he ‘got’ the girl, too. In his undefeated run to claim the event title at this past weekend’s (March 21-22) Sullivan Open Tour stop, which drew 32 entrants to Shooter’s Family Billiards in Wayne, NJ, he defeated the ‘girl’ (a grown woman to be accurate) countrywoman, Rubilen Amit, who came close to becoming the storybook heroine who won battles and in the end, ‘got’ the guy. About 10 days […]

Early Impressions Of The Diamond Professional

I never blamed my break on the table. I worked on my break til I had 3 ways to make balls off a 9 ball rack, from either side and work to get position of the missing to runout.

You will not see improvement without effort. Even with effort, improvement is not a straight line. There's a step forward then back. You need to have abd create reasons to justify the work needed to improve to yourself....so you keep at it.

You know why pros are pros? Because sure they have god given talent and usually a mentor....but none of them make it without a ridiculous amount of effort to train themselves to execute at a high level.
