Was pool better 50 years ago?

wine was better
food was better home cooking and less processed food
news was not sensationalized to keep views but more factual
old movies better and tv worth watching
clothing made out of cotton instead of petroleum products
real rock and roll then but 60 years back
Food was better when Mom was around to cook it.

Wine, didn't care. I bought the cheapest wine I could find at Walmart. Oak Leaf Pinot Grigio in a big ass bottle for around 10 bucks out the door. I figured it would make a good deglazer but washing was better if you didn't need sauce. Ended up splashing it into diet cola, powdered fruit juice, all three,... Wine and fruity coke is pretty good. Mmm. lol

Movies improved with technology. They learned to create a denser experience - Star Wars for instance - without the dragged out setups and cliche hits. Up to speed aesthetics IMO.

Yeah but,

There's an objective metric to pool. At the most obvious level; defense. Reyes killed on that front. So now you gotta not sell out and hit the non selling out stuff like Filler and Gorst so as to not sell out, and win by not losing and other boring concepts.

Best way to thin out collection cues and books... List separate, or bundle in one sell list?

Maybe the Real Question ... Is How other collectors (Books, Posters, Cues, Other pool items), stored or control Their collection?
I have hundreds. I store all my cues standing up in racks in my pool room and around 80 in my shop.
Books and memorabilia in a vintage cabinate I bought from a long closed down pool room.

My Fargorate progression

@TheGrandWazoo you are right, I slept it. I had no idea until now. What happened was early in the match I was playing on my phone, and asked if he made a good hit on a shot. He said yes, then said "pay attention, I'm not going to tell you again". He kept his word. haha. I'm not mad, that was all on me.

We both shot like dog. I was depressed that I played so bad.
The thing is, he stopped the cueball from scratching, then he moved it. That puts the onus on him to tell you that you had BIH. If he doesn't touch the ball, then you KNOW he scratched bcz the cueball is not on the table. One of the reasons why UPL has a loss pf game penalty for doing that.

Please, for the love of God, stop snowing!

Fifth day in a row here in SE Wisconsin having to go out and plow, with the sixth day tomorrow. Just getting ready to head out the door to go do a cleanup round this evening before tomorrows storm.

Hoping I can somehow manage to stay awake at league tomorrow. Did I mention there's been a run / shortage on salt? Anyone got salt? I'd do unspeakable things for salt right now...

I am going through pool withdrawals worst of all. Haven't played, watched, or heard of any pool in 6 days. That's like an eternity for me!
Are you close to Polaski, Wi?

Nicest Cuemakers

Dear Citizen,
I know this is a long shot as your post about Wayne Holmes is more than 10 years old. I am looking for Wayne Holmes cues for my children and nephews. I am Wayne's daughter. I remember him telling me about your visit to his home in North Carolina. Unfortunately, my dad passed in 2014. I miss him every day. I know you are fond of his work. Might you know of someone who would be willing to sell?
