Masters 3C event Cancelled in Colombia

Many years ago in Las Vegas, a man opened a Billiard Parlor that had eight 5-10 billiard tables and nothing else. At some point he contacted the UMB and said he wanted to host a World Cup. Not too long before the event was to be held, he called the UMB and said he didn’t have enough money and the event was cancelled. Many players had already booked their flights and made hotel reservations. On one of my trips to Vegas I went to this room. The owner had taken out five of the billiard tables and replaced them with pool tables. I think both Eddie Robin and the Melnichuk brothers used to go there. Manny Pacquiao played there.
The owner was from Italy, He had Italian Carom tables with some really interesting lighting!

From what I understand they served pretty good Authentic Italian food!

Fraud beware

Please be careful sending out payments or purchasing from buyers and sellers. Do your research before you send any money or billiards accessories to anyone. MAKE SURE you are talking to the correct individual your looking to do buisness with. Cross reference social media and phone numbers please. There are alot scammers out there that will find out information of both parties and pretend to be them. Its unfortunate there are people in the billiards community that are like this. Protect yourselves, finances, and information. Wish everyone the best and hope future sales and purchases are smooth.

Thank you!

Wood porn on a Monday??? Hey Joey

Wow - I Wish that I could fnid some of this anywhere. The only blank Ive been able to find is $150 for two blanks but $220 FOR SHIPPING !!!
220 for shipping? This is a domestic wood.

The punch line is that no matter how reliable the seller is there is a 50-50 chance you will encounter bark inclusions before you get your cut to final size. It's just the nature of that wood but by golly it's worth it!

Having said that if J2pac has some you will have good odds.

Legal shot question for the APA ruleset

I have been playing pool for 54 years so I don't remember when and who I picked this shot up... be it from playing 8 ball or a grumpy Irishman who taught me snooker.

The shot is you lay your cue on the table and bring the cue tip just past the edge of the cue ball so when raise the tip it brushes the cue ball. I was taught the shot for very close cue ball and object shots that would require extreme finesse and would be near impossible otherwise. I was taught the shot was called a "lift".

The question is this legal? I understand it still COULD end in a double hit cue ball foul but the suggestion that it not being at a 45 degree angle magically makes it an illegal shot.... I have to call BS on that. Anyway I didn't find anything in the rulebook. So I thought I see what folks think here.
If I remember correctly, the BCA rules require a shot be ‘stroked’. Merely lifting the cue might not qualify (?)

I finally played Ultimate Pool

"6.5 foot (88”), 7 foot (93"), 8 foot (101")"
Where do you suppose they are measuring these tables?? If its cushion nose to cushion nose which is the correct way to measure playing area that 8" Valley at 101" is bigger than a 9' Gold Crown.
Bigger dimension is outside dimension. Playing area is cushion nose to nose. So 93” table is 40x80 play area. 9’ table is 50x100.

Pro Pocket Size TOO Small for 9 Ball

Have the Brits come up with some miracle eye care as well? If so, it seems to have worked on Ronnie O'Sullivan.
There is a theory that the top players have lasted so long at the top as the sport is kind of dying in the UK. Lots of snooker clubs closing down or getting rid of most of their tables and replacing them with pool tables which means less good players are coming through.

Though now there is a new generation of good Chinese players coming through it will be interesting to see how much longer the old guard (Ronnie, Williams, Higgins) can hang on.
