I apolagize maybe John did say those words, I was sick while playing and felt really fortunate to win which was probably why I was playing extra slow. Also knowone dictates my pace of play, I asked John if he thought I was playing slow and he elequently replied no and said he was just curious as to what the shot clock rules were. When I got back home I fell even more ill and went to the Dr. turns out I had pnuemonia and then got rear ended by a teeny boper with a cell phone so I was not in a great mood when I posted about John. I am not making excuses but John does have mood swings also according to the conditions and or how much $ is at stake when he banged his cue into mine while rushing in on me while I was coming up off the shot - I told him he just hit my cue "are you going to make a production out of it?" I replied "no I am not but you could have said excuse me." He and I are in aggreance on one thing and that is we both want massive amounts of for the next rematch cause I don't want to put up with his desperado tactics and he does not like it when I bad mouth him about his tactics after the match is over.
I also said some kind words to John and congratulated him on the One Pocket win after our last match in Indiana however there was no mention of my sportsmanship from California Jay only John's. But again if he did say that then I apolagize and hopefully he did not have to pull any moves like he did in our last tar challenge (One Pocket) to win the DCC One Pocket. He did not call me any names, argue about rules, and or bump into my cue while I was still partially down on the shot - and so maybe he was on his best behaivor in Indiana. He is a great player indeed but I am sorry to say I did lose some respect for him, even in our first challenge match he swiped a piece of chalk in my direction which was moving fast at me and narrowly avoided me. It was very elusive cause it looked like he was just taking a swipe at the chalk and that if the chalk would have hit me then it would have been an accident. Hopefully it was but I still have my reservations about Mr. 400 when it comes to sportsman like conduct and sharking. He has incredible heart and is a very competative guy it's the name calling and moves I think he could do without - with the exception of these personality traights he is a champ in every sense of the word. If he wanted to bet a thousand on a match I guess he would have played our 3rd tar all around as tar offered him a thousand to play and he made an excuse as to why he would not give me a rematch.
I was heartbroke also stevekur about not being invited and spoke to Pat Fleming about that, he assured me that I would be invited on the next one. I like Pat and have a great deal of respect for hid dedication, it did surprise me when I was not invited to play in Manilla after my bronze medal at the World Championships. I learned while competing at the last World 14.1 someone asked me about why I was not playing in Pat Flemings polytick, good ol' boy invite party(my words) - I did not know what to say cause I was unaware that there was such an event. But I can tell yall this it did hurt my feelings and had an effect on my play while at the last World 14.1 tourney, now that would have been a great move if someone were betting against me in the last world 14.1 tournament and had a hand in making sure I was excluded from cowPat's field of ipt i drink tea big sponsor name favorites(just kina jokin pat.) If anyone from overseas reads my jargon please note that I will fly overseas to play in a major 14.1 event cause in my own Country they (little piggies) make sure that they choose who gets in which gives them the rush of reasurance that their right and keeps their starched white shirts clean while rolling around in the mudd of the 'good ol boy commitee' if they have heard bad roomers on a player then they will exclude them from the field no matter what their list of accomplishments may be.
I think John Shmidt's Dad may have been right, John once said on this forum that his Dad told him " if they keep talking about you then you must be doing something right - even if their talking bad." For me that was a real gem of knowledge.
