i like JS's 1P game, I like him too but I wont be biased about this. I carefully watched one of his matches against Harriaman and he got out moved, he won with fire power and determination. I know it went hill/hill i think its the match he won. Moving didnt get him the win or 9 what ever the case was, it was heart and fire power.
I was 4 feet from scott at the finals of the Derby this year when scott was up a game, John had him in a bit of a trap, and all of a sudden. Scott muttered "I gotta go", I'm the only one who heard it, I was sitting with Samm Diep and said "Did you hear that?" she said "what???" Scott then said it again loud enough for her to hear. We looked at each other in amazment, the balls were favoring JS who Broke I believe. Scott was in a bit of a trap for sure but "Going" was a loss for sure, he did JS went 8 and out. After that Scott broke down mentally, funny thing is John didnt look to happy at the beginning of the match even though he hadnt used a re-buy, Scott looked pumped, he made a error in judgment that cost him the championship. Scott is my friend too I really like him, he came out great and for no reason that I could see took a flier of a shot, he missed it close too, after that in the last game Scott cut in a real thin ball and somehow went through the stack 2 times without hitting a ball and scratched(a horrible roll) John went 8 and out or something like that. John turned his emotions in that match from negitative to positive as it went on-he found a way to win. They are both friends, but on this one I was pulling for scott, John's will to win and fire power got him there, he did move good and put scott in some traps, but moving aint his strong suit(yet), hell if he moved like Harriman then he would be 2 balls better than he is now.
Back to JS, he is an amazing person, has a will to win and finds a way to win. 1P aint his best game, (an unqualified as I am to say this I will anyways) he over looks lots of shots, or dosent even look at all the balls on the table before he picks his shot, So that right there will stop him from beaing one of the greatest 1P players ever, but he is still a Champioj 1P player because of his fire power, and will to win. Who knows in a few more years he will remember to look at all the balls before he shoots(hint hint).
you know im going to tell a little secret.
this is the list of players ive played 1hole with for medium to large money.
im not going to say how i played them or how we turned out .
thing is when it looks like im overlooking shots it might be because ive played so many great players that i can decide what to do quickly from past experience.
world class chess players play 100mph , not because they overlook but because they have seen it all so many times they know what to do immediately. just something to think about.
anyway heres the list ,and believe me just about everything i know ive learned from playing these guys.
efren,parica,cliff,jeremy,tony,marco marquez,santos,ronnie allen,tang hoa,mckready,fusco,gabe,harriman,richeson,ike,cooney,frost,
im sure im forgetting many.
then there the list of guys who i either heisted even, spotted and heisted or begged to play and they wouldnt get up.
im not going to name names but people who on paper seemed like the favorite as a group checked up about 100,000 short.
anyway thing is with some pro players its safer to assume they can play any game on a pooltable then to assume they cant just because you were not there to see it.
dont get me wrong im not saying im the greatest mover im just saying ive seen more and played more onehole then let on.
take care im going golfing today then dirtbiking tommorrow.
its a rough life but hey someones gotta do it.
