After a hectic couple of weeks I wanted to post up some pics and thank you's to all the people who made Super Billiard Expo 2009 an awesome trip.

Dave "SpiderWebbCom" made the whole thing possible and I can't thank him enough for helping get the TAR booth to become a reality. Dave is the nuts (even if he confuses the hell out of me with all that center to edge voodoo) :D Dave also brought some some buddies with him, Donny and Mike who were a huge help running the booth and a blast to hang out with. I hope we can do it again next year.

Thanks to Royce and Jessica from OB Cues for sponsoring our booth. Sorry about the lack of a stream but as you know it was a different kind of situation we will make it up to you. These two worked HARD all weekend. Thanks again guys.

Congrats to OB Cues sponsored player John Schmidt on his victory in the pro event and thanks for the dinner after. Very cool to see you continue the run you started at the Derby.

The trip was a success for TAR thanks to all the cool customers old and new who picked up shirts and DVD's. The TAR Nation is strong and growing. World domination is not out of the question. (Insert maniacal laughter here)

Two more people who made the trip for me were IT Guy and IT Gal of the JimboArmy forum. They offered to open the booth for me Saturday and Sunday at 11 so I could participate in the debauchery of the JimboParty Cave. I made it to the booth in time and they were there both days and stuck around for almost the whole show helping to sell merchandise or anything else that they could do. Awesome people. One other thing about how cool these two are. I had never met them before VF other than on a forum or in chat. Awesome people.

The SBE staff all did a fantastic job working long hours and dealing with all of the hings that come up in an event this size. Hats off to them.

Some random memories from the trip:

-JerseyJer siad the funniest thing all week when 1PRoscoe was barking at Aaron "The Anvil" from Jacksonville in the TAR booth one night. Roscoe was being his charming self only with the added kick of a day's worth of drinking:

Jersey Jer: "Roscoe....you are the only guy on earth who is a bigger ***** in person than on the internet."

As I started rolling around laughing Roscoe seemed to think about the statement and then smiled in agreement. Priceless.

-I was fortunate enough to go out to dinner with Fred Agnir, Jimbo, Dennis Searing, Murray Tucker, John Showman, The Pavlos and a bunch of other cue enthusiasts. A very interesting and entertaining evening.

- Spent a couple hours talking cues and cue making with John Showman. One of these days I am going to get that guy on tape. His outlook on the craft and business of cue making is enlightening and entertaining as hell.

-Had another great dinner with BrooklynJay, Pool Monkey and the whole crew from www.BilliardLifeUSA.com . I thought Jay and I had Monkey and Amy Chen talked into some Creme Brule wrestling but they aired us. Damn it.

-Another great line from the weekend came from Aaron "The Anvil" from Jacksonville. He was laying down some awesome lines while hustling the whole Jimbo Army crew out of twenties. LOL One of them came up when he had a jump shot. He stops.....looks up at his opponent....and says....

"Hold on a minute. I have to go get my cape"

Then turns dramatically and sprints off into the pit, returns with a jump cue and promptly spears in the jump shot and runs out to collect his cheddar.

- Scooter was in full effect in the action pit. After getting the 6 out and the breaks from Shane and losing he was trying to play the same game again and Shane wasn't interested. In his own Scooter way he tried to convince Shane by saying:

"You know what its like playing you? You don't make a ball on the break...you lose. You miss...you lose. You push out....you lose. You play safe....you lose. Here is a little tip Shane..YOU ARE THE BEST PLAYER IN THE U.S. and you won't play me a game that you have already won at? YOU ARE A NIT!!!!!"

Best part of the trip as always was hanging out with friends old and new. We have a plan for next year that we are going to pitch to Allen that will be very cool if it happens.

Here are some pics from the weekend:

Pool Monkey: The worlds greatest SL3 hustla at the Billiard Life booth. I am stealing her from them next year. True story.

IT Gal snapped this pic of me in the TAR booth. What makes it hilarious is my man PBat51 in the background expressing the true spirit of the TAR Nation.

More pics !! Please

Darren looks like a kid in that Pic.

Not even a hint as to what might happen next year??/

Thanks for the pics Justin, always appreciated. Looking forward to the next action match.

I had a blast this year. I really didn't make anything possible - Allen made everything possible, trust me. Allen is the nuts, pure and simple.

I would tell everyone some stories throughout the week; however, the entire Expo was like an alien abduction. I have flashes of memories that seem almost like a dream, but it was real - I know it was. From Friday around 10pm until 4pm Saturday - I don't remember too much. THANK GOD I didn't lose my cue or my wallet during that time.

As always, I had a blast with Justin and met some very cool AZB people. I vaguely remember being a little buzzed interviewing Mike Howerton on the TAR stream.... asking him why in the hell people call him Mr. Wilson?! He seemed to get a kick out of that.

One of the coolest guys I've met in a while has to be Anvil. That guy had a line for everything. On top of that, he's quite the salesman and that's no sheeit. Get this.... This guy walks up to the TAR booth and is thinking about buying a DVD for $25. After sweating the decision for a while, the guy decides not to and right at that moment, Anvil jumps in and tells him the price is $15 because he'll throw in $10 of his own money. Anvil says, "I just wantcha ta have it." It's the way he said it that almost made my beer come out of my nose. He's a cool cat - hope to run into that guy again, for sure.

As Justin said, there were rumors of chicks wrestling in creme brulee, but we were aired.

Anyways, I can't wait for the next TAR event - will be "the spot" as usual, I'm sure.

Dave

Sbe

I stopped by your guy's booth a couple of times. Was nice to meet you guys! Great set up and everyone there was having a lot of fun. Can't wait till next year! Nice pics too.

JCIN...it was great to hang with you guys at the EXPO! The wife and I were really surprised you all trusted the booth to us to handle while you had dinner. We had a good ole time pretending to be TAR reps.

Meeting jersey jer and the TAR crew was too fun! even though it turned out WE had the "ATLANTIS' room right next to the "CAVE" you all were hanging at!....I never thought to see who the neighbors were :)

Spidey....as always, you are a trip! we must meet up to hit some balls soon....let me know when you have time! We can take a ride out to Gods country for hte day if it worx out.

Missy & Gerry

Another great report J. Its amazing how much goes into these trips and how many different tech issues come up, but you guys keep going. Thanks again for all of the opportunities you guys have given to me in the past year or so. Wish I could have been at VF, but sounds like you had some great back-up from other TAR supporters, Thanks to all who helped.

Many thanks to you and Missy for the help. It was very nice of you to let me get away for a little while. I apologize for not mentioning you in the original post. My brain is still pudding from last weekend. :D

See you all next year.

JCIN,

Thanks for rolling out the red carpet for us you were a gentleman as always.

I humbly apologise to the cave neighbours, but the door was open you could have come on in and had a beer. That being said I hope we didn't keep you up.

There's not enough time to meet everyone or do everything.

Thanks again,

PBat

I love your pics and reports from the events!!!

Of course, it makes us want to be there even more for next year, each time you post one of these threads. :) But that's okay. ;)

Thanks again!

LOL.....I kick myself for not taping that night. I have to find some sort of super microphone to catch woofing.

"Sh!t man. I knew there was a reason I came up here, and now I know what it is.....I got me a nickname." ~ The Anvil

LOL...I just remembered another funny story:

Jersey Jer was playing on the table in TAR booth with his six point Black Boar when a young kid named Tyler sat down next to him and looked at his cue. Tyler is 15 but looks about 11 and he says to Jersey:

Tyler: "Would you like to sell your cue sir?"
Jersey: "Sure...if you got about $6000 laying around"
Tyler reaches out and touches the cue as if he wants to look at it.
Jersey: "You could ask first before trying to hold on to my cue"
At this point Tyler opens his case and says:
Tyler (with a little smile on his face and never missing a beat): "Well here...(pulls out a beautiful older ivory inlaid Black Boar) you can hold mine while I hold yours"

We all crack up laughing and Jersey holds Tyler's Boar while Tyler looks at his.

JimboArmy member: "Let me see your I.D."
Anvil: "I'm from the hood man....they don't give us I.D.'s"
