Pool Wars by Jay Helfert

Just walked in the door and my book was in the mail box ... could'nt wait to open it ... Flipped through it checking out some the pics of the older players ... Boy was I surpised on page 57 in the odds and ends section to find the new 100.00 bill tucked in there ... Must be some kind of promotional item Jay did'nt tell anyone about ...

Thanks Jay ... looks like a great read I can't wait to get started... 106/500

Ding! Ding! Ding! We have our first winner! Who's next?

Ahhh hell... I took my book to the hall last night and it passed more sticky fingers than pass the plate night at prison.

Ohhh that Jaybird is a sly one....

Got my 119/500 (I think) Monday. I'm on page 105 and it's a page turner! Very nicely written with an economy of words that paint just enough to get the storyline across. Nothing like William Faulkner and his long diatribes!

I did note one typo! on page 79, "rein" instead of "reign". Do I win a prize ?!! :grin-square: Also the unknown reference in the LA tournament picture (am typing from work so no page number), could that be Scott Richardson ?

Thanks. You ruined it for me. I took a whole course on Faulkner in college and now you tell me Jay doesn't write like him. Not going to order it now. Man, you just ruined it.

Wow Jay, first book just hit the stands, and already you're being compared to Faulkner (favorably I might add)!!:grin-square:

Just got a delivery confirmation e-mail! Can't wait to receive the book and get reading!!!

It could be. Thanks Chris. There are about three or four "typo's" in the book. I learned from my publisher that there are no perfect books. Even with all the proofing in the world some things just seem to slip by.

In the second edition I can make some minor changes. They won't affect the story line in any way though.
