What is the Beef With Dragon Promotions and The Predator 10 Ball Championships?

just laying this on the table . . .

I have heard of two other incidents involving charlie. If the stories I have heard are legitimate, one or both predate Marissa's alleged incident so people coming forward might have prevented other incidents, assuming this is all real. Hard for me to assume otherwise when the pattern emerges but ultimately I don't know. Seems there is either a pattern of charlie doing things he shouldn't or a pattern of people making false accusations against him. Since one series of events has one person culpable three times and the other series of events involves at least three different people deciding to make false accusations at different times and in different places it does make the single person being culpable seem more likely.

Everybody reading has to judge for themselves since there are no independent witnesses to the alleged events. I don't think that weighing one person's value to the pool world against the other person's value to the pool world should have anything to do with someone's judgment of the story(s) but that is just my thought.

I heard stories from CW's friends and of course the other side. Its a tricky topic obviously, but as Sunny pointed out only them two know the whole story.
I do know many of CW's friends on tour, big respectable names, wanted to come forward and defend CW but he asked them not to get involved because he rather them protect their own name.
The fact is there alot of players, men and women, that are jealous of him and there is even negative envy towards his managed players(Loraines,Cha,Hohmann,Lee,Immonen etc)

Bottom line is, because of the success he has received and his company, CW is probably the biggest target in pool.

This is one of the most unlikely theories I've heard. What is he a target for? Maybe if the allegations were somehow tied to another promoter, but It doesn't appear that way.

Many people that do really bad things are very nice to their friends. Most of them are very surprised when their friend is arrested.

Dragon and Predator Great for pool

Lenny, you are spot on. I have gotten to know the Dragon Folks and they are all great people and work their ass off for the sport while earning a living which I suspect is not as lucrative as some critics may think.

I am just curious as to what is the problem people are having with them. I see DP news and whatnot full of red rep and people bashing them constantly on here. From added money to the highest finishing women player to the live stream, the talk is all negative. I was happy to watch some great pool, to see pool players make some money. The added money for the women I believe is an incentive for more women to play, plus the women attract interest in the male/female matches that we want to see.We wonder how they will do against certain male players and this way we get to see it or see the results like Yu Ram and Shane which most of us would have given 100-1 odds on.

If people out there seem to think the pool world would be better off without Dragon Promotions, Charlie Williams, and Predator then they are dead wrong. People out there are not perfect and there is always someone who has a bone to pick, you cant please everyone, but come on people the event was good for players, fans and pool in general. As for the stream, I am unsure why some people had a perfect feed and others did not, I just know it was alot better then last years and hopefully next years is even better. :)

Very, very well said.

There are some opinions that weigh in on the side that Marissa should let it go and move on with her life. Of course, that is the logical thing for Marissa to do, in order for her to be happy. She has a whole future ahead of her.

Make no mistake about it, though, that when a woman is assaulted by a man, she never forgets it, can't forget. She can go through life and never mention it it again, and some women do that, but it ain't easy.

I do not know one way or the other what happened. I have had interactions with several persons mentioned in this thread, which help me to form my opinion, but that's all it is, an opinion.

I do know from personal experience that some pool entities have no integrity. Maybe that's what it takes to be successful. They will accept freebies and all donations to their cause when they are unknown but then have selective memories or no memory at all after they get a handout from another, anything to keep on going, even if it means stepping on those that helped them when they were a nobody. Well, they might forget those who supported them when they were upstarts, but the supporters that get stepped on sure as hell don't forget it.

That may be what this thread is all about. I don't know. Charlie Williams never did anything to me, and so I have no beef with him. :)

Does anyone really know the legal procedings if this kind of case would have gone forth? Man enters room with a key and is sent packing and he leaves after finding out his advances were not welcomed?

I'm serious. What would have happened? If this is a first offense realisticly I don't even think the state would have persued anything.

I know that there are charges that could be charged but do you really think the district attorney would have pressed charges?

I don't know a lot about the law but I have to guess no.

I think Marissa is fortunate that she didn't get the police involved because I think she would have been very disappointed if she did that night. Even if the courts wanted to persue this which I'm certain that they wouldn't have, she would have had to go through the run around just to see a very mild plea bargain.

Any lawyers out there that have a different theory?

Any questions or comments can be sent to my email: sweetmarissa@gmail.com

if any thing bad happened you should of went to police end of story! you didnt so straight away your story loses credibility, and if what you said is true then its your fault for not pursuing it.

my opinion is your just coming across as a woman scorned by bringing this up all the time. libel or defamation is all well and good if the person has any money but if they dont then its just a waste of money.

anyone that believes half of the crap they read or hear from people are just naive, if i knew how to rep dp for running their comps i would at least he is letting his actions speak louder than his words as talk is easy to do

lmao, says the guy that has had a few lawsuits involving the battery of women.

Hu, I hate to hear that you know other women who experienced this as well. I have heard from other sources wishing to remain anonymous about their experiences. It's sad, but at the same time, I'm relieved that I wasn't the only one.

For those saying I should move on, I did not bring this up. I only answered one or two people's questions and left my email address should anyone else want to ask about it or share their own experiences. I'm willing to talk about it, just not on here as it only creates a mess. Otherwise, I am spending my days nesting and getting ready for baby.

for every funning thing you come out with there is as many dumb questionable things you write, never had a lawsuit against me nor any conviction's. nothing better than a court case to get to the bottom of things! then again maybe you think an internet forum would be better with 1 person's account

Considering the story I would think it would involve attempted rape, sexual battery, breaking and entering, indecent exposure, menacing and probably a few others I could think of 11 beers less than what I have had.

Then they could claim that the entry-fee was only $ 100 and that $ 600 went to registration fee.

That way they could say that it is a $ 60,000 added event...

Imo, the added money is what is added on top of the entryfees, and that's less than $ 9,000

Yep, just my thoughts.

'Added money' is the money added to the entry fees.

Organizers should stop under estimating us players and stop cutting off some ridiculous 'process fees' or 'registration fees' etc... it's just an attempt to deceive money and it's ridiculous that it seems to work.

What ever you charge, add, pay, whatever, tell it clearly and honestly out. What ever you earn, it's your business, but stop being swifty. (oops! edit; meant shifty, naturally..)

I've been paying 5-6% 'processing fee' for US.Opens. That's for example making 600$ entry fee becoming 636$.
Why are they not paying us then 6% 'collecting fees', when we go and get our monies?

Huh.

Forget about retorting to the rubbish, chamillionare! ;)

In the words of a great American football coach, Vince Lombardi, there are three kinds of people in this world. Some people want it to happen, some wish it would happen, and others make it happen!

You've already made it happen in the world of pool! Would love to hear some pool tales someday, if you ever feel like it! :)
