ANTIQUE POOL TABLE (Seriously $19,500?)

I might have to stop in and check this table out seeing that it's in my state.

I just don't see how you can compare something like this to the work that Glenn (RKC) can do to a table for much less.

I guess there is a big difference as to what some people see in a table. I tend to focus on the playing surface and anywhere the balls touch the felt.
 
That table is amazing, a true work of art and a seriously old antique. IMO that table selling for the price of a Honda Civic might be out of line but not on the side the OP thinks. Given what a piece of art like a bronze statue can sell for, or a painting, I don't think I would give that table away at that price to be honest. There are not that many of them around and tables like this don't sell all that often.
 
I met and partied with a very wealthy man recently from Toronto Canada and he told me he has a table in his house worth over $200K. He is suppose to be emailing me a few pics.
 
Glad you posted this. I actually have the exact same table for sale but not nearly in that condition. It is a very fair price on it from looking at the pics.
 
I'm going to an auction locally tomorrow with a Brunswick model 1850 table among many other things for sale. No idea what that is, guess I'll find out tomorrow.

I remember the table you had in your showroom, right when you walked in the door that was about $35,000. It was simply gorgeous. I asked your dad once "Bob, are you ever gonna sell this table".....his reply, "Well, Vince Coleman almost bought it last year but I hope I never sell it. Do you know how many 3,4 or $5,000 tables I have sold because of this one?" .....He was inferring that it was a lot easier to sell someone a table for $4,000 when then walk in and see one for $35K, thinking there is no way they are going to go home with anything. Your dad was double smart.
 
Table appears to have been converted from an original billiard table into pool. I say this as there are only 2 rail bolts on the end rail. Table still appears nice in the photos.
 
That table sure is a steal, brunswick is re-releasing a model thats very similar to that. Its going for around 40K...and they give you a custom cue with it worth 900 bucks lmao. That table is a work of art, its collectible. Aint no one going to pay that kind of money for a diamond just cuz RCK did the work on it. With glenn you pay for the recover, with this your paying for valuable 100+yr old work of art that only few still exist. I saw a cast iron silver plated monarch type table with the lions for legs. It was an b/f Brunswick balke and collander, but the same company. It was selling for 150,000
 
Blatt Billiards in New York City had a one, that was made for Ulysses S grant (when he was president), they wanted $100,000.00. It was gorgeous.

$20,000.00 isn't much money. That is only 1% on a passbook savings account of a million dollars.

i moved a solid oak brunswick from 1859 from a mansion in PA in like 2002. the woman paid 20,000$ at auction in the late 1970'S. do the math into todays $$$$$.

btw heaviest table ever. full 1 1/4 think slate not 7/8. oak legs took 2 ppl also. wonderful table
