Sucks but it will never happen again'''''''''''''''''''
Hi there and thanks,
Now I have to regroup and get ready for wed at 1:00. If I exit quickly it doesn't matter. I'm going to try and make sure that doesn't happen. One way is to be there at 1:00.
There is no place here to practice that doesn't have smoking. If I play in the smoke that will finish me off physically. Q-masters looks like a scene from a war movie all hazy from the smokers. I was up in Maryland and the rooms look so clean and actually smell good.
I notice when I do go into poolrooms that have smoking in them there are no older players in there at all. I think that when we get older that we don't handle that smoke very well. If you have asma, diabetes, or anything else to deal with your body can't keep up with what it has to do to clean your body.
I'll bet that once the smoking is gone everywhere there will be alot of older players showing up.
I've buried most of the friends I grew up with in this pool world. Most were just average players but were mostly victims of cancer. The night club that I had for 11 years we just buried a bartender that worked for me, she died from lung cancer and one of my best friends Denny from cancer.
I have diabetes and the doctors say the reason I get so sick from smoke is nerve damage in the lungs from diabetes. I get very ill for about 5 days and have no energy from being in the smoke for one night. During this time I have trouble sleeping because I have trouble breathing so I keep waking up. No sleep makes it pretty tough to play pool.
I just got an idea. I need to practice. I'm going to see if there is an AZ'er here that would let me practice on their table for a couple of days in trade for the Perfect Aim lesson and video.
Thanks again Geno.
Geno,
That is absolutely brutal.. I had this happen to me once in a large tournament, not on the scale of the US Open but big to me and I was certain that I wrote down the correct time the first time..
I cannot imagine putting up 6 bills to play and getting forfeited the first match, that is just wrong on so many levels.. Unfortunately, that is pool.. Best of luck to you in your future matches.. I hope you run right through em from here. Keep on pushing forward..
Peace, Joe
