Earl playing like the Earl of old

When I saw him win the Jacoby tournament a few months ago it was apparent he was playing really good. Running out from everywhere and excellent safety play. He said he learned from Efren how to play safeties with the proper speed and that improved his safeties.

His safety game was far better than Zvi.

Earl just dominated Zion Avi 11-4....

He looked like the Earl of old. I think he might make it 6 us open titles...

I would like to see Earl win again and see how his career moves after. Wow, talk about a historic victory!!!

Honestly... I just worry that someone will fart sideways in the final 8 or whatever, and his wires cross, and short out. It's a tightrope I sincerely hope he traverses, but I'd need odds to play.

Go Earl, be patient, deep breaths!!

:)Good for Earl. Looking at his bracket, his first real test will be against Lee Van Corteza if both of them win their next matches. I hope we get to see this match in the tv table. Corteza is playing excellent. He just crushed Stephen Folan 11 to 1 in his last match.

Lee Van is a scary mofo right now - perhaps the overall fave if you handicapped it at this moment... If Earl gets to him and beats him, that'd be sweet as american pie!

Has anyone looked at my signature lately?? Changed it righ tbefore opening day. I just had a feeling about em. He's been kinda quite as of late and i just had a feeling he was gonan play great this year.

Yeah...but...

Lee Van played a local player (AZ) in his prior match (Randy Pelton) and Randy actually was leading the match in the beginning. Then Lee came on...

Anything can happen.....sometimes.

Earl can hang......

And I plan on being right there tableside taking crappy pictures in your behalf and absence Rick! And I'll post that up with my silly ass commentary. :) (and my buddy 420 will laugh at me as usual ;) )

That match - should it go down, will be perhaps the highest attended to date at the Open. He'll draw them in, like always. I'll be pulling hard for Earl the whole way.

Sure wish I was going with you....I'm kicking myself in the ass for missing it this year. Bad planning....being on the east coast 10 days too early. I just couldn't pull it off.

Been playing some golf though:smile: Beautiful today...low 90's.

How about the one liner from Earl. "If somebody talked like that to Tiger Woods they would get arrested".

hoping that was the temp. - been in the upper 60'S (67 and 68 the last two days ) in central IL (not bad this far into OCT), and I've been playing hooky

sorry, golf was mentioned and I hardly ever miss a post with it in it

I missed tonight's Live Stream. Does anyone know when Earl will be playing Lee Van? (If they play).

I have to agree, it could be the most exciting match of the tournament.

Just think how great it would be for Earl to win his 6th U.S. Open. I really, really hope he can pull this off.

If some other sportsmen do HALF of what Earl's done in their sport, they get nominated for an ESPY or at least get a nice write up in SI. It's high time Strickland gets his due.
And I hope he gets a very lucrative endorsement contract as well.

But we're getting ahead of ourselves....still a lot of 9 Ball still to be played!
In the mean time....Go Earl!!

You think Corteza is the 1st real test for Earl?? He needs to beat Rafael Martinez first.... You may not think it, but that dude can hit the balls real good too. A win over Daryl Peach isn't so easy you know, and it was 11 to 6 at that. Not saying Earl can't win, but he doesn't have to win against this guy.
