no casey, i know it wont count for the final say, but if the powers that be read AZ BILLIARDS, it may help the cause. at the end of the day, i am scottish and i want USA to win! but seeing the european side i dont think it matters who is on the usa side, i think europe are too strong sadly...
so why shouldn't earl be on the team? after all he does have the best record over the years of the most wins on the team, surely that must count for something!

While Earl is certainly a great player he has stepped over the line too many times with his Childish behavior. I personally do not want him representing the USA, a foreign Ambassador Earl is certainly not!!!:grin:
There is certainly much more involved in playing for team USA than ability.

So let's focus on winning this Mosconi Cup and who the best player to vote in will be and for what reason.
Then obviously you havent played on too many teams. There's this little thing called "chemistry", and when a team doesn't have it, it shows. Early isn't exactly the epitome of team chemistry. Once again, thanks for spamming the forum.
don't earl and archer get along well? what about when he and morris pair up...that match is always great....
Your are not breaking any news to me, there are many players currently on the tour who conduct themselves in a professional manner from which to draw a winning team. Earl alone will not make or break anything that is why they call it a Team Effort. Like I said before Earl is a great player, I have been watching him play since the late 1970's, and I personally like him. However, with that aside his behavior is terrible and it is a problem he certainly needs to fix, before I would want him representing my country to the World, because he fits the description the Ugly American way too well. So we will have to agree to disagree on this subject:wink:

I think that Earl would be a bit of a distraction.
I would rather see Dennis Hatch sent
This team needs Rodney Morris for the best team chemistry. He gets along great with Shane and Johnny. And he did play very well in the Open last week, finishing tied for 5th.
Embarrassment to USA
You seem to think pool is real big in this country. The non-pool players have no idea who Earl even is, let alone be Embarrassed by him. :frown:
Thanks very much for the information Shawn, while I think it is certainly a loss over all his really need to learn to control himself, tension is something our team can do without!!!

ok everyone, all we seem to have here is earl strickland bashing! firstly hes a better player than anyone who posts on these forums, and secondly, does it not occur to people that earl has won the most matches for team USA in the mosconi cup over the years, and of course it takes a team to win, and also a team to lose, i never recall earl losing a mosconi cup title single handedly! the guy is a legend in the game, and always will be regardless of his behaviour! he has been acting like this since day one, it's nothing new, so give it a rest folks will you! earl strickland has more experience of pressure pool than most of the USA side.
i do not believe that mr. putnam knows who is in the shortlist for the final place in the team, we shall see......
